Massachusetts Freepers: BOYCOTT Jay Severin

Jay Severin is the # 1 local radio talk show host in Massachusetts. He is # 1 because the majority of his audience is made up of Republicans and independent leaning Republicans. However Jay Severin has over step his boundaries and he has betrayed the majority of his audience. In the last few months he has been relentlessly attacking President Bush more than even the most raging liberal talk shows.

He admits that he has great admiration to John Kerry and it is very noticeable that he is not showing the real Kerry to his audience. He is not talking about Kerry treason to his fellow soldiers when he came from Vietnam and trashed them. He is not talking about John Kerry ultra liberal record. He is not talking about John Kerry hypocrisy. He is not talking about John Kerry flip-flops and huge contradictions on many issues. Instead he lets Kerry slides by without any criticism and directs all his anger toward President Bush. He lies to his audience by saying that he would like to see President Bush being re-elected but he does nothing in that regards and at the contrary he savagely attacks and criticizes the President in this very crucial election year.

Jay Severin is a wolf in sheep clothing. He has attracted a lot of conservatives by fighting liberalism but when we need him the most in this very important election year he betrayed his base and has been savagely attacking the President and do not say anything about John Kerry. He attacks the President policies, his character, his looks, his intelligence an on and on and on. He does this in such a mean spirit that can be found only with the most partisan “Hate Bush” crowds. Enough is enough with Jay Severin, it is time that we do something about him.

My great plea with Massachusetts Freepers is to BOYCOTT Jay Severin and even go further by asking 96.9 FM talk that carries his show to replace him with the Sean Hannity show live in the afternoon. Please inform your fellow Republicans, conservatives and friends who listen to him to do the same.

Sincerely yours; Jveritas

Do any of the other channels in Eastern MA carry the Hannity show at the same time?

You can listen to Hannity 24/7 on the web. The previous show plays until the next one airs.

If the phrase "by virtue of" didn't exist, Jay would have nothing to say.

I listened to Jay this afternoon and I heard him say he wanted and was hoping for Bush to win. It was in his critique of the Meet the Press interview. He has been bashing Bush as you say quite badly on the Iraq war for a long time.
But today his tone was markedly different irt Bush.

I do not know, I need to check on this. However 96.9 FM talk is the # 1 talk show station in Massachusetts and new England. He goes on the air weekdays from the 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM spot and thus taking the three hours of the live Sean Hannity show from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM EST.

Carrying on about Kerry?? Has Severin had a baboon brain-transplant?

Let's put in a call to our good friend Bob Grant on WOR in New York and ask him what's going on.

I cannot believe it either. He is not criticizing Kerry at all. He is a very dangerous specially for the independent people who are on the fence but lean Republicans. If they listen to him they may convinced that Bush is not a good President and they may go and vote for Kerry or stay at home. We cannot afford this in this very important election year. Also I forgot to mention that 96.9 FM talk that carries his show can be reached in parts of New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Maine and this make him even more dangereous.

Severin is just saying what should be obvious to even the most obtuse Bush worshiper. He messed up on Iraq and the reasons we went there. Heard him tonight. Weird to read the threads on FR that slobber over Bush's performance with Russert and then hear someone with an open mind actually review that interview. Bush was abssymal as Severin said. I winced all the way through it. And as National Review Online has said and other conservatives in the media. Severin doesn't worship Kerry or even praise him. He is being merely realistic. If you equate honest critique of Bush with disloyatly that is your problem. But fawning uncritical sycophancy is worse than no help at all. Sean Hannity's picture is in the dictionary under the word "sycophant" and I wouldn't listen to him to save my life.

Severin, like myself, will be voting for Bush (though it won't matter in Mass that much I suspect)- but I appreciate the fact that he doesn't ignore flaws and problems for partisan purposes. I like to be treated like an adult.

I really never liked him becuase I always thought that his true colors will come up one day. For example today, I listen to him while I was coming home from work and he was saying that the President is not a smart man and he was attacking the President on Iraq. What is realy upsetting me that he is not saying a word against John Kerry. it is just unbelievable.

He is a pretend conservative. There was one here for a while too. I can't understand why anyone would listen to that.

Interesting comment. One has to understand from where Jay is coming from. He was instrumental in Pat Buchannan's campaigns and because of that he was blackballed out of the campaign consultant business. He went to talk radio and TV. Since this summer I have e-mailed Jay telling him that he should confess to being a paid consultant to Kerry or shut up. For a while he did. But he's back. Remember when he was out of the studio for three days with an alleged cold and just coincidently was the same time Kerry fired his staff and brought on others. Jay actually fought off rumors on the air that he had something to do with this. I suspect he was the guy that did the firing. For me it is too obvious, Jay is working for the enemy.

"Severin doesn't worship Kerry or even praise him. He is being merely realistic".
I beg you the difference. Yes, he is not praising Kerry everyday but he said many times that he admires him. Moreover if he really wants Bush to be re-elected he should be attacking Kerry every second on his ultra liberal record, his treason of his fellow soldiers when he came from Vietnam, his flip flpos and huge contradictions on very important issues, and his hypocracy. At the contrary President Bush is his primary target every day for the last few months and this is not the work of someone who wants Bush re-elected.

WOW!!! This is a very interesting post you have. Then we should fight very hard to do something about this traitor Severin. We need to send e-mails to 96.9 FM talk management and put pressure on them. These guys care about the ratings and money and if they see that Severin is upsetting his audience then either they pressure him to stop his rhetoric against the President and attacks Kerry or hopefully they can replace him with Sean Hannity or some other real conservative talk show host.

I admit to being an infrequent listener (perhaps for two or three hours a week). But I have never heard him say he "admires" Kerry. I have heard him say Bush is a doofus and a "Forrest Gump" like he did tonight. To be honest- from what I saw of that interview- that is not an out of line description. Even conservative commentators were appalled by his performance. To not point that out and demand that the President get his act together would be the real crime.

Also tonight Jay defended Bush quite handily against what I thought was a "seminar" call from a Dem stoodge.

I did hear Jay describe Kerry as "puppet head" and incapable of expressing emotion the other day.

I heard him a good number of times saying that he admires Kerry. He says that he admires Kerry service in Vietnam but also he agrees with Kerry for his anti-Vietnam record, i.e. his shameful anti-Vietnam record. He may criticze Kerry very rarely but this is not enough at all for a man who claims that he wants Bush to be re-elected but trashes Bush instead.

I used to be one of "the best and brightest" and Severin got me through the Clinton years. HOWEVER-I cannot listen to him in my anymore, because his constant swearing -- perhaps minor in the FCC's judgement, makes him an unsuitable voice for my children (11&8)to hear. He professes to be pro-family, but he is not for my family. I am very disappointed in his recent diatribes against Bush as well. I for one, will never forget how grateful that I was GWB was in the White House on 9-12 and every day since. I like Barnicle and Eegan and Braude -- but now I listen to WBZ in the way home from school. Shame on you Jay...A former listener

You did the wise thing. If you can please help the cause and drop a brief e-mail to 96.9 FM talk management and ask them to do something about Jay Severin or even suggest to replace him with the Sean Hannity show. Thank you very much.
