I know what you are saying, however there are facts on the record that Russert outright ignored in favor of the liberal talking points of focusing only on that which could be wielded against President Bush.

It would be helpful if he could hew to facts, not talking points.

I did argue against his demeanor because to adopt such when asking questions that are not based squarely on the facts is not acceptable to me.

But I do understand your point.

Why didn't you call NBC and ask Tim Russert to ask those questions instead of complaining that he didn't after the fact?. You're NOT an ex-Republican base voter, you're a swing voter who won't swing low enough for ANY candidate to grab your vote.

Boy, Old Tim thinks he has the President on this one. "If we are at war, why do you keep cutting taxes and DRAINING MONEY FROM THE TREASURY."

**I don't think they'll want to see or hear Botox boy on their TV screens for 4 years**

I'm already sick of seeing him. I think he needs a little bit more botox. His face is falling off.

"**Point is, as George implied** ------- / ------ Ahem. That would be President George W. Bush not George like you're talking about your next door neighbor or something."

Dittos on that! I see David used Russett - not Tim.

I wish he would get Botox injections in his lips, so he can't talk.

Did you hear Juan Williams, the other day, say that his wife was asking him about the debates. She asked him who that tall man in middle was. Of course, it was John Kerry. She said, he looks presidential. How dumb is that? Her husband's work is in politics and she doesn't know who the candidates are? DUH!

***an ex-Republican base voter***

Do you think a Kerry Administration would do a better job?
I have a different take - see the tagline.

If I were Karl Rove, I wouldn't want to have a discussion about what Bush proposed as far as the worker program either. It was a clunker.

My husband and I caught that too and were absolutely stunned. "DUH" is right!

Thanks for that little tidbit about Andrea Mitchell. Thats something we need to keep in mind in the future. Maybe we should let her know that we are aware of her ties to this group.

Love that comment that the Congress had the "same information" he had... very important this will be in the campaign. It will force Kerry, who had "the same information" to either admit he agrees with the President, or that he's a liar or a fool. He can't win this argument.

I'd like to hear the President talk more about how, as of last Spring, and for the first time in a decade, Iraq is no longer in violation of the cease fire treaty it signed with the U.S. in 1991. It doesn't get any more simple than that.

... as I type, he's talking "failed diplomacy" -- damned straight, Mr. Prez!

Timmy: you told us that there was "no doubt" that SH was a threat.

GW: Let me remind you, in my language I called it a grave and gathering threat. But there was no doubt in my mind that he was a threat to America.

The worst nightmare scenario for a President--his most solemn responsibility is to keep this country secure--we can't say, let's trust in the goodwill of saddam, let us try to contain him. And let's remember he used wmd against his own people.

TR: ironclad proof?

GW: there is no such thing, with a dictatorial regime, as ironclad evidence.

Congress looked at exactly what I looked at, the same information, btw that my predecessor had, and all of us made a judgement that SH needed to be removed.

You mentioned pre-emption. I went to the UN and said, here's what we know. You're the body that issued resolution after resolution, which he is ignored. What I decided to do is go to the international community and see if we could disarm SH peacefully. Reminding us that the UN security council was unanimous in determining that SH should be disarmed.

If there aren't serious consequences, it creates adverse consequences for us--they don't mean what they say, etc.

Now there are positive effects--Khaddafi voluntarily disclosed his programs and will dismantle.

The world is a better place.

TR: you took the intelligence, molded, shaped it, and rushed to war. Now if you want to go to NK or Iran, people will want hard cold facts.

GW: Tim, I and my team took the intelligence that was available to us, and it clearly said SH was a threat to America. I know I'm being repetitive--but he had these weapons, he had manufactured weapons. He had funded suicide bombers in Israel... all those ingredients said to me, SH is a threat.

I dealt with the threat by taking the case to the world and saying, let's deal with it. Inaction in Iraq would have emboldened SH.

You can't rely on a madman making rational decisions regarding war and peace.

TR: there are lots of madmen in the world, why not against others?

GW: the reason why force in Iraq and not NK, it's because we'd run the diplomatic route with SH. In NK, the diplomacy is just beginning. Every situation requires a different response/analysis. The international community is trying to convince NK to get rid of its nuclear program.
