If Kerry wins the nomination, President Bush can take comfort in knowing that John Kerry has more Skeleton's in his closet than all of Saddam Hussein's mass graves put together :-)

Depending on who you talk to, Kerry represented the moderate, respectable side of veteran protests (after all, he and VVAW were nonviolent and working within the system) or he was the slanderer responsible for the image of Vietnam veterans as either reluctant soldiers, ashamed of their service and angry at the United States, or vicious, misfit war criminals.
Not true.... VVAW took over the Statue of Liberty and held it hostage with a list of "demands." (Or what, pray tell?)

The young politician was able to have his cake and eat it, too, becoming the establishment, patriotic face of a radical, anti-patriotic movement. Quite a trick, really.Sort of like him yelling about the special interests and taking their money or voting to authorize military action in Iraq and then voting against the funding. What a man.

" VVAW were nonviolent and working within the system)"
This is another myth perpetuated by John " I say I'm a war hero, therefore, I am a war hero " Kerry. The VVAW plotted to bomb buildings, just like the Weathermen and other domestic terrorist groups at the time. Maybe the FBI should reopen some unexplained campus bombings for VVAW connections.

What the author describes is not at all unusual, I'm afraid.
Several weeks ago, before this book even became news, I put it on hold at the NY Public Library. There were NO other holds listed. I had even thought of going to pick it up, but was too lazy.
Now, suddenly, there are SIX OTHER HOLDS listed before mine. (Meaning, in effect, I will never see it.) I have been putting things on hold with the NY Public Library for years, and this has never happened to me before.
There is a concerted effort to make sure this book stays out of the hands of the public.
