This is NYC we're talking about. What's going on INSIDE the regular public high schools is just as bad.

A couple of years ago, a girl was raped during math class. The teacher said she didn't see it, and other students confirmed that her view was probably blocked by all the perp's friends who were standing in front of him during the act. Needless to say, NYC high school teachers are in no position to tell teenage thugs to sit down (unless they want to get ambushed after school).

And more recently, a woman was seriously injured when she was walking on the sidewalk next to a Manhattan high school -- a chair thrown out of an upper floor window hit her in the head. Neighborhood residents told reporters that they made a habit of walking on the other side of the street, since large heavy objects flying out the high school windows was a frequent occurrence.

The sensational tales about the activities of Harvey Milk students aren't really sensational at all when put in context. ALL the NYC high schools, except for a couple of special ones like Bronx Science, are just warehouses intended to keep teenage thugs off the streets for a few horus a day.

These comments you make about Harvey Milk, need to be underlined. HOW MUCH of mentor would we really want HIM to be, to name a High School after the likes of someone with a totally deviate character. Is anyone in the real world in the NAMING HIGH SCHOOL Dept of Ed. in New York?

In the past, they didn't call such places schools. They called them insane asylums.

the Hetrick Martin Institute, the national's largest gay-rights youth organization

Huh! I'd have thought that was NAMBLA.

Silly rabbit. Taxachusettes' embrace of gay culture has transcended the need for such things as gay schools.

Everything is gay in the Worker's Paradise.

internal bickering with the leaders of the Hetrick Martin Institute, the national's largest gay-rights youth organization, which founded the school and provides services for students there

What services does this "gay rights youth org." provide exactly? And why is a taxpayer funded school at the mercy of such an organization?

Showers after gym class are probably full.

LOL! Yep, getting these students to take showers is not a problem. Heck, sometimes they all ask to cut gym short just to get to the showers early. And once, I don't know why, some kids who weren't even in gym snuck in and took extra showers. They're all asking for extra credit showers. I just don't understand it. Those homo's sure are clean.

In the field of education, separate but equal has no place. Separate schools are inherently inequal

Good catch.

five transgendered students were arrested for posing as prostitutes, then shaking down their tricks for cash and credit cards after claiming to be undercover cops.

And who now doubts that the entrepreneurial spirit doesn't live on in the coming generation?

High school tranny prostitutes??

Reminds me of the old SNL skit, "Velvet Jones School of Technology".

Doesn't "transgendered" mean that the boys have had their genitals surgically removed, and the "semblance" of female genitalia surgically created?

Does it strike anyone else that allowing such a thing to be done to a pre-adult should be a capital offense?

The horror, the horror.
