New number for BA flight 223
11.32PM, 20 Feb 2004
British Airways are changing the name of London to Washington flight 223, which has been repeatedly cancelled in recent weeks because of security fears.
The reason behind the change is to help restore passenger confidence.
"People associate the flight with delays and the potential for disruption even though it continues to run on schedule at the moment," said Paul Parry, a BA spokesman said.
"Customers told us this is the reason they are not booking the flight," he said, adding seat bookings are down.
As of March 28, it will be known as BA 293. The destination remains Dulles International Airport, but leaves five minutes earlier from London's Heathrow Airport at 1500 GMT, the spokesman said.

It's about time!!!
Matter of fact at dinnertime news, he is being charged by the Feds and most likely will be with local authorities. If he wanted to run out on a wife who is 6 months pregnant, why not just call and say I'm on a plane to Morocco and leaving you. Why go through an elaborate farce like this after 911? What a coward!
