"George Bush never served in our military in our country. He didn't show up when he should have showed up. And there's John Kerry on the stage with a chest full of medals that he earned by saving the lives of American soldiers. So, as John Kerry says, 'Bring it on!'"

Guess that time in the Air National Guard was 100% vacation.

And I heard Billy Jeff Clintoon was a General. Why else would he ask all those women if they wanted to see his privates...?

Bush flew F-102A fighters in his National Guard wing.

Here's a picture of a couple of them flying back before the world turned color in the early 1960s:

First built in 1952, the Convair F-102 series was a hopelessly outdated jet some twenty years later when Nixon was already returning troops to the US under 'Vietnamization'. There was simply no chance Bush's Air Guard unit would have ever been activated.

Bush's unit was flying thoroughly obsolete and barely-supersonic interceptor jets, characteristics which really don't amount to much of an 'interceptor' at all.

He's not only a fool, he's a certified world class crook. Chasing down where he made his money from is as bad as Fastlow at Enron - the only difference is the paper trail.

I seem to remember a web scan of Bush's DD214 from the GoreFest, but now can't find it anywhere.

It looked okay to me. One automatically looks to "Time Lost". I'd've noticed something funny.

Military Records Center, St. Louis? Department Of The Air Force?

He's not a fool.

He's the Clintons' hand-picked destroyer of everything non-Hillary, and he's executing his assigned functions flawlessly.

McAuliffe is to politics what MTV is to Superbowl halftime shows: Low, tacky, and a failure.

I'll bump to that! : )

Kerry is a socialite who served the Soviet Union, enough said. But I guess that was not enough for the American people to vote Clinton out.

Terry McAuliffe, whom we ought to call the Manchurian Chairman, hit a new low Sunday, saying on ABC's "This Week": "George Bush never served in our military in our country. He didn't show up when he should have showed up. And there's John Kerry on the stage with a chest full of medals that he earned by saving the lives of American soldiers. So, as John Kerry says, 'Bring it on!'"

While I didn't watch the show, I'm willing to bet Georgie Boy let the comment slide by without a challenge. Right? /rhetorical :)

Hugh, you just allowed the opposition to completely redact FOUR YEARS AS COMMANDER IN CHIEF from W's resume. He has been a great CIC, and the "dumb" McAuliffe has manged to get the conversation to completely ignore it. Instead of comparing W"s NG service with Kerry's VietNam performance of 35 years ago, we should be touting that our guy has already proved his fitness to be Commander in Chief, which is the only reason military experience comes into the conversation.

Hulloooo 'Rats re: President Bush's National Guard service.......been there, done that (2000 election). Don't you have anything new? I'm sure the Guard units serving in Iraq appreciate your comments too (sarcasm "on")

This is only the beginning of these "tactics". The 'Rats will sink below the sewer during the campaign, just like they always do- No big surprise really. It's going to be a long 1O months til the election.

Yesterday's pratfall was a perfect example of an attention-starved ego diverting the press from the themes that the candidates are trying to develop onto a stupid comment and the clean-up that follows.

I disagree. This is a deliberate plan by the Dems to shift the subject from Kerry's vulnerabilities.

This is a planned, pre-emptive and vicious attack on what the Liberals say is Bush's tepid record. It has the ultimate intent on making Kerry's nasty post-military record off limits as the Media will eventuall call a truce and tout putting "weaknesses" of candidates' Vietnam record off limits - which will surely include Kerry's undeniable anti-war record.

Although Kerry has a few medals, some of which he may even have legitimately earned, his post-Vietnam exploitation of them is shameful, and his record is even worse.

First, he used his legitimate service to culturally mainstream the anti-war movement, not only by writing a book but also organising demonstrations and falsely testifying before Congress about "our atrocities" in Vietnam, thereby compunding his calumny.

Second, Kerry has used the good part of his military record to endlessly promote his candidacy among Veterans Groups and those unaware of his involvement and aims within the anti-war movement, which openly supported a Communist victory and American defeat in Vietnam. The anti-war movement was a very successful front for the Communists, who could not beat us on the battlefield but were successful over time in our changing our policies at home, causing us to abandon Southeast Asia to the Communists which resulted in the slaughter and enslavement of millions.

Kerry was instrumental in this anti-war movement, and understandably doesn't want to have to explain it in any detail. Therefore, the Dems are working pre-emptively to innoculate Kerry by once again waving the bloody shirt of Bush's "shameful" service record, thereby hoping to neutralise the issue.

It is not Sen Kerry's service in uniform that I question.

I do question his unholy direct alliance with Jane Fonda, and that calls into question his foriegn and military policy. He has publicly stated that he supported the disbanding of the CIA and the subjugation of US troops to UN command.

Let's be honest. There are a lot of people with honorable, even heroic military records. That fact alone does not make one fit, or even better suited than any other, for the CinC's chair. Look at the ridicule the media and the Democrat party (and even some on the Pubbue side) heaped upon VADM Stockdale, quite possibly the greatest hero of Vietnam, and an internationally recognized expert on foriegn policy. They cannot now claim in good conscience, only 12 years later, to have some sort of deep profound respect for our Vietnam vets that was clearly absent when the candidate was not a Dem.

The key question for Sen. Kerry: What did you do for America when you got home?
And IMLTHO, based on his history and voting record, he has done more harm than good.

one night listening to Laura Ingraham, she mentioned that she was good friends with McAuliffe (she was serious). I don't listen to her show from that day on.

McAuliffe has long been a candidate message-killer – so much so that the anti-Clinton wing of the Dems suspects he's programmed to take down anyone who gets in the way of Hillary's potential run in '08.

They're not the only ones.
