This is a transcript of Rush's show from today. He really nailed it, IMHO.

I didn't see it and I concur with Rush it was tacky and juvenile. It was more childish and embarrassing than obscene and pornographic. Grown men and women behaving like 10 year olds. Our culture has reached the point where immature behavior is rewarded. For adults its not a big deal. And my message to the MTV generation would be, "grow up and get a life!"

Correct in that it was pretty tame compared to what one sees on BET, Univision, Telemundo, and European TV. Especially European TV. If you're looking for the televised decline of western civilization, the Janet/Justin stunt wasn't it.
With that said, I wouldn't call it appropriate for halftime of the Super Bowl.

I was'nt suprised at this, Rush is right it's typical for such a bunch.. I was shocked that they have become so blatant to show up at one of America's favorite past times where kids watch...they became exposed to what they otherwise would not have been subjected too if their parents had known the animals were going to show up.
What next, Nickelodian?

So we shouldn't get upset because there's trash out there already? I don't agree.
I don't think the parents who give their kids condoms are the ones who are upset.

Rush blew it. The big difference between what you see on MTV and the half-time show at the Superbowl is one is pre-recorded and the other "live, and in living color"!
I remember when almost all teleision was "live". Boobs popped out of too tight bodice, pants dropped (which is why you should wear suspenders), babies wet themselves and others, animals defecated, stage hands slipped on it, psychotics had breaks, and the bi-polar never got a chance to do a full show!
Janet now says it was an "accident" ~ that part of the costume was supposed to break away revealing "red lace".
If that had been pre-recorded they could have done it over and over until that happened. As a live television stunt, it was high risk ~ and these two people are too young to remember why it was an elementally stupid thing to do on a stage in front of millions.

But, considering the event, I doubt either of President Bush' daughters will ever again wear a dress with the support features experienced by one of them.

Half time shows have been idiotic for as long as I can remember. This one was just more of the same, only more so, IMO.
More stupid than sexy.

No, I didn't expect better from this culture, but I did expect better from the groups whose airwaves sent it flying into homes all across America. Where does the buck stop? They should be held accountable and their liscense removed.

I agree. I was early for an appointment and went to buy lunch. I decided to buy takeout and listen to Rush in the car becasue I thought it was such an important monoalog. This is from the woman who loves service!!

Thanks for posting it. We heard Rush today. We were driving from Lake Jackson (South of Houston) to Denver. Really enjoyed listening to Rush and to Sean Hannity today. Sean was good today too, covered the half time "show". Rush nailed it.

Rush also tried to make a point that culture
always rebounds from its low points.
World history says otherwise.

I keep reading this stuff and getting more and more amazed. I watched the whole game and I didn't see - or at least remember - any commercials or the half-time show. Why? I was doing other stuff and was only paying attention when the game was actually going on. It was really a pretty good game, but who is talking about it? It's like I was in a parallel universe while everyone else was watching a different SuperBowl!

Rush is spot on with his views. As usual.
My neighbor paid $19.95 for the 'Lingerie Bowl'. It was over in time for him to switch back to 1/2 time and catch the 'wardrobe failure.' He said the lingerie bowl was classier than SB 1/2 time. I guess I agree, 1/2 time sucked.

Well...I suspect that the heavens won't fall and the Republic won't crumble over the issue of a breast.
It's also rather amusing that various talk show tub thumpers are using this issue for the same purposes as Jackson and Timberlake. Ratings boosts. I had to laugh watching Joe Scarborough's show this evening in which he railed at length about the boob issue but never failed to have a continuous film loop of the "breast event" playing. As Scarborough talked the camera would go full screen at the critical moment and a very thin digital mask was used to obscure the offending mammary. I would guess that boob boo-boo was shown some 30 times on Scarborough's show. Such creative outrage is amusing and rather ironic.

The McDonalds spot showed a guy eating his McD food while watching the game and his wife reminds him he was supposed to put the wash in the dryer.
As he does that, distracted by the game, he inadvertently puts the McD wrapper in the dryer with the cloths.
Cut to the man coming into the kitchen where his wife is washing the dishes or something. He catches a whiff of McDs on his wife's blouse. He starts to get romantic.
Then they both get romantic, right in the kitchen.

I mean, we've had Britney kissing Madonna, this is nothing. Britney kissing Madonna rated a zero in my book. In many cultures around the world, not only is it common for women to kiss each other on the lips (and I'm not talking about homosexual women) but it is also common for men to kiss on the lips. But here in the U.S. we make such a big deal out of it. Gee, Britney's and Madonna's lips touched for a whole second. Yawn.
