>>"Justin was supposed to pull away [Jackson's] rubber bustier to reveal a red lace bra," her publicist, Stephen Huvane, told E! "The garment collapsed and her breast was accidentally revealed."
Added Huvane: "We want to apologize to anyone who may have been offended." <<

Of course. Right after all the sexual intercourse motions and the "I'm going to have you naked by the end of this song"...he reaaches over, pulls off a breakaway bra cup to reveal a tassled ta-ta, which is excuseable, because it was SUPPOSED to just be her bra....

Okay, I get it. Now THAT is what I call acceptable family viewing. What a relief.

HOW STUPID DO THEY THINK WE ARE? Obviously pretty stupid.

This is like being shocked that Howard Stern would be raunchy.

I didn't even watch the halftime show. Right at the very beginning when CBS announced that MTV was producing the thing, I went out for a walk. I just knew they would pull something that was completely crude and sleazy, and that I would get to read and hear all the tacky details on Monday. Sure enough...

Well, since they were in Texas and not Californication, there might be a chance.

MTV to JACKSON & TIMBERLAKE: "Take the fall on this one and we'll give you 'Face-time' in the future........and if you don't, you'll NEVER get a second on our network to sell your trash EVER AGAIN."

Ding! Ding! Ding!
We have a winner. MTV was all over this yesterday, now all of a sudden the "stars" are saying they did this all on their own? Right.

But who wears that crap under their clothing if they have no intention of their breast being viewed? It cannot be comfortable under the dominatrix garb. Interesting ball gags on her dancers. What incredible trash - oh, the questions the little one's will be asking. Mommy, why does that man have a ball in his mouth?

Too little, too late, Janet. The damage has been done, and if you had it all to do over, you know you'd do it again. Talentless slut.....

The best way to stop this sleaze is to hit them right in their pocket book!

NFL should refuse to pay her a dime as a breach of contract because she had mislead everybody involved, if you can believe that?

Then NFL should file a counter suit on behalf of the American People for multi-million $$$ for punitive damages her performance have caused. That's the tactics the left always uses. NFL will not have any problems in getting support from the public!

So JJ says it was planned, and JT says it was a costume malfunction. They can't even get their stories straight!

Perhaps they did. Her statement today fits right in with his use of the phrase 'wardrobe malfunction'.

Here's my take on the whole thing. And I only suspected this until Jackson issued her statement today...now I'm sure of it.

It was to be just as Janet says it was. They planned something of a costume reveal for the end of her segment. The problem is, the costume designer who was in on the secret either screwed up or has pulled of a huge on both of them. It may be that the portion of her costume that was to pull away when Justin applied the proper pulling action was the midriff section, leaving her breasts covered...or perhaps only the black leather top layer was to come off leaving the red lacey portion in place.

I believe that unknown to them, the "seamstress" who built the thing decided to have some fun and work it so that the right cup was the only thing to pull away. It is also possible that the thing didn't work as designed and JJ wound up exposed.
I have seen the video many times and the look on her face tells me that she was mortified and thunderstruck. She had been 'had'.

We shall see what comes out later on but there is much more to this story than anyone knows or is talking about right now. Just my humble opinion.

Ahhhhhhhh. Very good. They are looking to up the viewership at the Grammy Awards. Very good scheme they have going here. They screwed the NFL to get some controversy for the Grammy Awards.

The NFL should bar CBS from football for 5 years for screwing them around. That would get some attention.

No apologies here:

Sometimes a breast is just a breast. Howard Dean, a physician and a Democratic presidential candidate, on Monday dismissed as "silly" a government inquiry into whether indecency rules were broken during the broadcast of the Super Bowl halftime show when pop diva Janet Jackson's bodice was ripped to expose her right breast.

It will do something. It will improve your spirit and your mind. You will be blissfully ignorant of all the new products that are promoted with tacky ads, so you will not buy them. You will find other things to do.

The worst part of it will be that after five minutes in a group, when the conversation inevitably turns to TV, you will have to sit quietly until it moves on to something else, if it ever does.

It is truely shocking to see an bare breast of a woman on national TV, instead of the perfectly fine murder, beating, blood spilling, head chopping, head blowing off, limbs ripping, regular rape and violence that we all see every day on TV.

I don't watch murder, beating, blood spilling, head chopping, head blowing off, limbs ripping, regular rape and violence every day on TV. In fact, I hardly ever see any of what you mentioned. And I certainly make sure I monitor what my kids watch on the television, and if I'm under the impression they will see any of that, I make sure the channel gets changed. I also make sure they are not exposed to nudity, vulgarity, and other forms of social deviancy. I do however, enjoy watching ball games w/ my 2 girls...It would be nice if I could watch a televised game w/ a relative assurance that my daughters will not be exposed to nudity.

Her words mean nothing.

The only good to come out of that whole sexual spectacle was that Middle America responded swiftly and surely.

I don't know if I agree with you. The close-up shot of her, um.......ta-ta......clearly shows metal snaps that could only allow the ......ta-ta.......part of the costume to come off. If you are right, then the costume maker REALLY pulled a fast one. And I have a real problem with the idea that she never tested the costume.

I am more offended by their presumption of my stupidity than I am by their vulgarity.

Well Said!

Those are my sentiments exactly!

Question is... Will AL FRANKEN "out" them as "lying liars"?

Its as good as anybody's but I wonder why they did not show this section to the NFL and why they did not show this section to CBS and why MTV says they didn't know about it. If this was a legitimate little bra-baring scene then why hide it from all these? I think they hid it from the NFL observers (and possibly CBS) because they had something to hide. I think they wanted this controversy in order to make the upcoming Grammy Awards, "controversial".

Considering that it happend after Justin sings "I want you naked in the end" and the fact that MTV issued the statement that the show will be a "shocker" it is indeed planned and they (at least MTV) should be penalized. Now MTV is saying their planned shocker was the appearance of Justin Timberlake (how lame is that for an excuse?)

The superbowl staff should know better than to hire MTV to produce their show. MTV tends to be outrageous--remember Britney Spears tearing her clothes off? Or Justin Timberlake putting his hands on Kylie M's butt. Is it any wonder that more and more people are not buying into their records. I've decided awhile ago that I'm changing my tastes in music to Country or Jazz. Beside at least those people really can sing. Seems much of the world is also giving folling suit. Shania Twain is one of the very few to sell 10 million in 2003 and Nora Jones is not far from hitting that mark too. Well I say it's well deserved.

Why in the hell MTV is putting on pregame/halftime shows is beyond me.

Left out CBS, too -- Money
