Statement by NFL Executive Vice President Joe Browne regarding the Super Bowl halftime show:

"We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced Halftime show. They were totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the show. It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime."

This is probably the worst Super Bowl halftime show I have ever seen, and I've watched all 38 of 'em. THIS SUCKS!

Two mediocre teams and a less than mediocre halftime show. The only reason to even watch the Super Bowl now is the commercials.

This year had an even worse halftime show. The teams made the game exciting this time. A victory in the last few seconds of the Super Bowl is always a great ending.

I know, me as a European woman, coming from a different culture, should not participate in this discussion!
But at least I would show you some support.
I always tried to understand the "thing with female breasts" here in USA. Finally I start to understand, when somebody wrote, boys have to wait until the age of 17 to see a female breast........there is the root for this obsession!!!

It's OK to show the most bloody scary and violent murder movies, it's OK to cover just the nipples, because just the nipples are considered porn, not the breast itself.

It is also impossible unless you cancel cable. I called my satellite company and complained about MTV several months ago. They pay all the channels a percentage. There needs to be a campaign against MTV and those that advertise on it. If we all threatened to cancel our subscriptions we might get these providers thinking. We should have the choice of the channels we want to pay for those we don't. I'm calling Direct TV tomorrow and voicing my thoughts.

Cracker....that's the whole thing......we used to have lines we did not cross....we used to have unwritten rules....things were better then....

now, we have not only people performing strip acts on national tv , we have people actually thinking its just great....

the rest of us are just supposed to turn off the tv, the radio, the cd player, and not to read any newspaper or magazine because all of it has been pretty much perverted....

CBS knew or should have known. Hiring MTV it telegraphing the intent to have a sexual related "something". CBS was competing with the Bikini Bowl remember? How many other networks were running an alternative halftime show?

If CBS hired playboy they would be "shocked" at the playboy bunnies they never expected.

the whole half time started with a traditional band, who was to think it would go down so fast....
