Nothing like a little class-warfare to prove your conservative credentials.

It has nothing to do with class for one. I'll give you a non-income tax example. Let's say the gubmint decided that in order to fund the president's new 15 billion dollar marriage counseling proposal, they were going to put a new federal tax on cauliflower. I would not have a problem with that at all, because a)if they are going to pass this stupid ass program, it has to be paid for, and b) I don't like cauliflower. Now, if they proposed to tax pistachios instead, we'd have a problem. So you see, class has nothing to do with it. I am looking out for mine, whatever class I happen to be in. And I couldn't care less about "conservative" credentials, especially the way "conservatives" rationalize big government these days.

You want taxes raised on one segment of the population simply because they can "afford" it. That is Marxist and has no basis in conservative philosophy. Everything beyond that is just more Marxist rationalization to bolster the original Marxist proposition.
