Dispatcher: 911. Whats your emergency?" Caller: I am the highway shooter." Dispatcher: Where you at?" Caller: Ah, dont (expletive) worry about it." Dispatcher: Whatever, whatever, whatever. You just want attention, dont you?" Caller: Im going to shoot (inaudible) car." Dispatcher: If youre the shooter, where you at?" Caller: (Initial comment inaudible) Im up here on I-71." Dispatcher: Yeah, yeah, whatever. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever." (Disconnected)
Call 3
Dispatcher: 911. Whats your emergency?" Caller: Look, Im up on I-71 and I just shot a car." Dispatcher: 71 where?" Caller: On I-71." Dispatcher: Well, my lieutenant is doing a phone trace right now. Stay on the line were trying to trace your call." (Disconnected)
Call 4
Dispatcher: 911. Whats your emergency?" (Disconnected) Second dispatcher (heard in background): Is that the same guy?" Dispatcher: Yes."

An observation from the 911 transcript:
In calls 2 & 3 the caller says Im up here on I-71," and Look, Im up on I-71 and I just shot a car."
It is common to refer to a location this way in parts of Southern Ohio and West Virginia. Most people would say "I'm on I-71." It could be a clue. Too bad the 911 operator didn't have more of a dialogue with the caller.
