By R. EMMETT TYRRELL JR.

So, no sooner does Sen. John Kerry emerge from the New Hampshire primary as the Democrats' fragile frontrunner than word gets out that ex-President Bill Clinton is flying down to Washington to plan the Democrats' return to the White House, and at this "high-level" meeting Sen. Hillary Clinton will join him. What is this all about? Are the Democratic presidential contenders not capable of sorting things out on their own? Two, after all, were coaxed into the race by the Clintons, Sen. John Edwards and Gen. Wesley Clark.

Westley Carp has been a 40 year friend of Bill Clinton. He was a Rhodes Scholar when Bill was, and... joined Stevens Inc.,, when he retired.

"We know of at least two different stories that came from people currently on staff with the DNC, who fed the material to reporters." Says an Edwards staffer, "These are folks who worked for Clinton back in '92 and '96 and in the administration."

Sounds like one of them could be Lottie Shackleford.

Then Hillary will make her grand entrance. With Mr. McAuliffe smiling from the podium her power will be vast. Possibly she will allow herself to be nominated to the No. 2 spot to assist her party in its moment of peril.

Hillary wants to be President, not Vice President.

"Madame Hillary: The Dark Road to the White House"</i

Dark Road? How about "Ugly STreet"? Ugly enough to make a choo-choo train take a dirt road ugly......

Makes Aunt Esther look like Miss America.

My goodness, that is a good read to catch in the middle of
the night. Thanks Elle Bee. He writes of what has
been said on so many different threads for weeks now,
and he puts it into just a few beautiful paragraphs.

Bill Clinton remains a mesmerizing figure to those he does not repel.
Hillary's appeal is in some ways broader than his.

Her appeal is not the only thing broader than his.
Probably by a few ax handles at that.

We've known here for months that the nine flying DemoMonkeys were a farce planned by McAuliffe and the DNC to assure 1). Nine "equal time" Bush bashers all over the media ad nauseum and 2). Hitlery's entrance on her white broom at the convention to break up intramural squabbles and be acclaimed as the candidate.

Dean must have know the plan too. Perhaps to the extent that his entire campaign has been a charade to bring even more public attention to DemonRat machinations. Could be why his wife stayed home. I put nothing past them.

One interesting catfight to contemplate: Madame Hitlery vs. Madame Teresa Heinz Kerry. Eye scratching behind the scenes is surely to ensue.

Will frontrunner Mr. Kerry be the next victim of the Clintons' political research teams?

Count on it.
The Clintons will pick them all off, one by one.

I have been waiting for the one big-name Democrat who has the spine to finally stand up and tell the Clintons to take a hike. I am not, however, holding my breath. Democrats are, as a party, leeches and cowards.

If you smell a rat, you know the stench has to come from the Clintons. Let's face it, Kerry has been one of the most disgusting Dem candidates from the getgo. I can see a match made in Hell.

Madame Hitlery vs. Madame Teresa Heinz Kerry

Scary when you think of what those two could accomplish together, isn't it?

It could be better than the "love" that was so obvious between Tipper and Hillary. /s

How is this a problem? If she takes the veep spot, one of three things happens:

1. They lose, and she gains nothing but a boost to her resume.

2. They win. She waits her turn, and runs 8 years later, win or lose the second term, it won't really hurt her.

3. They win. She decides she can't wait that long and has her new friend asassinated.

Sounds like a winner to me.

I don't see the problem here.

But Vice President is a better platform to launch than Senator. And after all, something could always happen to the president. (I don't mean that in a sarcastic way - after all, Bill Clinton could have stepped down, leaving Gore president.)

Couldn't dirt suddenly show up on the current Dem president, leaving the vice pres (Hillary) to step into that space?

It just wouldn't be a normal Democrat campaign year without a few mysterious but convenient plane crashes.
