And? When I see people in my community association forum trying to dissuade people from supporting Bush for re-election, I step in and try to persuade the people to support him. Of course the people in my community association forum doing this are liberals and hard leftists.

But what is the difference between that and the folks here screaming at everyone to vote for Tancredo or Peroutka? Voting for them is JUST AS MUCH voting opposition as voting for the Democrat. Since I believe that Bush and the GOP are the best vehicle for furthering my values at this point then I don't care how close someone is to me philosophically... if they are voting against Bush they are political opposition.

Or, they're swing voters.

If they are, then why are they swinging away from President Bus?

It's not going to be enough to assume they're malcontents. Have you seen the CPAC threads? It won't be enough to expect people to vote as you do for the reasons you do.

Heck, I'm voting for Bush, but I'm really not happy about it, nor with his performance domestically. I'm not even voting for him for the reasons that you are; so how do we regain the votes that have one foot out the door?

We listen, and we find out why they are leaving. They'll usually tell us.

And they are telling us that they have serious problems with some of the policies of President Bush. Whether or not you think those are valid problems is not really the point, because their votes count as much as yours.

So what's the solution to regaining those votes?

Impact the policies of the President and the GOP that are disaffecting them.

That's why there's such a hullaballoo; not only on FR, but on talk radio and throughout the country and the Republican Party.

It's difficult not to see it that way isn't it? I mean , I just veiw the threat of a democrat president as being so much worse than anything President Bush has done, or not done, it's hard to understand those who don't look at it that way too.

(sigh...)It's also hard to be ignored by someone you kind of liked, just because you disagreed with them- but I guess that's just the way it goes. Can't we all just get along? Guess not :-(

Anyway nite all
