No, they are not related, but they are both browsers is what I inferred. I was going to look into Mozilla, but after reading your post about it, I will keep using IE for the time being and stick with he problems I am already familiar with!

The main reason that I don't use IE is because it is so much more vulnerable to hacking. I have had it happen even with all the updates.

For what it's worth I've never seen the problems that she mentions with later versions of Mozilla - 1.4 and later. Versions before that had some serious issues however, but 1.6 in particular seems very good.

Often weird things like that can be fixed by wiping out your Mozilla profile if you've upgraded from a previous version of Mozilla ... for some reason this often seems to cause a lot of problems. After you do that however most people have zero problems.
