Guys - I'm a techie by trade, and work with Java & Javascript.
Javascript cannot harm your PC. It does not have "write" access to your hard drive, etc.
I'm curious as to what you all think is happening from the CN&V site, or itshappening, etc.
You DO have to be careful with your IP if you're like me and on a "fixed" IP address that never changes. (Obviously, once a hacker knows it, they can try to attack your PC directly - but a good firewall stops that. Get ZoneAlarm if you don't have one).
Methinks JavaScript and Cookies get a bum rap. Those of us who work with the technology directly know what it can do, and what the "urban legends" are. I would not be so concerned about either of these, but that's JMHO. (But DO watch your IP if you don't have a firewall!)

I'm sorry. Where did I say write access occurred?

Since you admit publicly to being a techie,
what should I do about the uncleanable, undeleteable files that virus scan site further back up the thread has found on my pc?

Is there a free version of zone alarm?
