Have you ever
seen the Dallas City Council?
Atlanta used to draw businesses seeking to relocate in Dallas away from Dallas by showing them video of Dallas City Council meetings. Al Lipscomb and Diane Ragsdale were the two top clowns.

If we have to pay reparations to far removed relatives of slaves then we ought to take it further and be able to put relatives of current prisioners in jail, too for instance.
Since they want to claim liability for their past relatives then they should also claim responsibility for their current relatives.

There is a very serious legal question than needs to be answered before reparations can even be discussed properly. Under what theory of law is " victimhood" an inheritable asset?
Slaves should have been compensated for their labor. I fail to see where you inherit the victim status of your ancestors.
I fail to see where The British Government should compensate me for their failure to compensate my Great Great Grandfather for his land in Avoca, Ireland which was expropriated.

Since the Democrat party was the Party of Slavery, only Democrats should have to pay for reparations!

More "white" Americans have a black slave ancestor than do "black" Americans.

How does one ask for reparations for something that in law at the time, was legal?

More "white" Americans have a black slave ancestor than do "black" Americans. Can you document that? If so, it would be a very powerful argument.

More white Americans have a black slave ancestor than do black Americans.
Everybody who's ever looked into the questions knows that.
First of all, there are simply several times more white Americans than there are black Americans. Of those white Americans, a very large percentage find ancestors in the earliest populations. Outside of New England, it was quite normal for men and women to "marry" outside their own family backgrounds.
The current estimate is that over 50 million "white" Americans have a black slave ancestor.

More "white" Americans have a black slave ancestor than do "black" Americans. Did you mean to say:
"More 'black' Americans have a white slave ancestor than do 'white' Americans"?

I beleive that every living slave who suffered in bondage after such was made illegal is entitled to reparations.

Once again: throughout human history, there has been slavery. The conqueror enslaved the conquered. Endebted people, criminals and the politically incorrect were punished by being thrown into slavery. Slavery is still a fact in Africa, mostly perpetrated by Arabs and smiled upon by the UN. Every human being on the planet has ancestors who were slaves, because everyone's ancestors were conquered at some point in human history. Therefore, each and every one of us owes reparations to each and every other human being on Earth.
If that legal and true argument doesn't work...I can dig up some Irish ancestors, so can I sue the British government for reparations?

No, I said what I said because there was a tremendous shortage of "white" females during the earliest periods of re-settlement of the Americas. Besides which there was a very high maternal death rate. "Black" women filled in as best they could. We should be proud of them because without our ancient African mothers there would be no modern America worthy of the name.
If you have ancestors outside of New England who were here in the 16th century, or most of the 17th century, I guarantee you have some rather swarthy (black, actually) ancestors!
There is no shame in this.

The case would get awfully complex in that my Ulster Scots Irish ancestors on my father's side expropriated land from indigenous Irish Catholics. Hell...I could wind up OWING money once the accounting was sorted out.
Think I'll let sleeping dogs lie.. When you team up lawyers with accountants you're sure to get fleeced.
( Trust me...I'm a CPA)
