The pander quotient promises to hit an all-time high tonight. There will be squeals of delight infesting this thread from beginning to end. After having run and won as a conservative in 2000, Bush has decided to run hard left. ....

This "unappeasable" hasn't changed since 2000 when I voted for a conservative. The conservative I voted for has morphed into something more fiscally liberal than Bill Clinton at his pandering worst.

Ditto. I campaigned for him in 2000. I contributed. I even wrote the centerpiece presentation to FR's inaugural ball.

Now I wouldn't vote for him on a bad bet.

You know, I have tried to be patient and conciliatory with your objections. However, Laz, the statement that you wouldn't vote for him on a bad bet is simply over the top.

Who are you going to vote for? Dean/Kerry/Kucinich/Edwards/Lieberman? Going to throw your vote away on a third party helping the Rats?

Do you not care that the War on Terror will be lost should a Rat prevail? Do you WANT to get permisssion from France to protect ourselves?

All because you don't like some spending, much of which will be tempered by the House?

I have set my priorities. National defense is always first. All else is secondary, and can be argued and refitted in times of peace.

I respectfully ask that you rethink what you are saying. I don't think you realize the ramifications.
