You need a history check then as marriage "for thousands of years of civilization" was only recognized by the Church and the individuals marrying.

This was a GREAT State of the Union Address. I give it 4 stars.

I could have done without the last minute laundry list of fluff.

I'll give it 3 and 3 quarter stars.

It was a great speech. He swung at and hit the Iraq doubters, the judicial activists, the Patriot Act bogeyman, the tax and spenders, the treat jihadists as criminals crowd and quite a few more.

The criticism will be that he has no big programs on the agenda. GOOD!
