(updated: January 19th, 6:45pm) An Albany man's body is found in the closet of his apartment; now police say his roommate has admitted to the murder. NEWS10 has learned the romantic relationship was also an abusive one. Our First Response Team was there shortly after noon today, as police began their investigation.
The victim is identified by friends as Mike Yanus and he is said to have been in his 50's. NEWS10's Tanisha Mallett was told that he was involved in an abusive relationship with his partner John Wagner - the man police say has admitted to the killing.
Yanus' friend Bob Dvelis says Wagner told him over the weekend that Yanus was found dead in Washington Park and that his body was at Albany Medical Center. So he says he was in disbelief when he learned that Yanus was actually found dead in the closet of his Dana Avenue home.
Another source close to the investigation tells NEWS10 the two recently moved to their current apartment at 143 Dana Avenue from just up the street at 110 Dana Avenue. That source also tells us the two were violent towards one another. Dvelis says he often tried to get Yanus to leave.
NEWS10 is still awaiting official word from police on how Yanus was killed and what the circumstances of his death were. We have heard from neighbors and friends they were abusive so it is still unclear if his death is the result of a fight.
Sources say a cat named Madison was removed from the 143 Dana Avenue apartment this afternoon as well.

Taipei - A Taiwan health official on Tuesday warned islanders against unprotected sex after disclosing that 28 people in a 92-strong gay orgy proved to be HIV-positive.
"Among the 92 young men who took part in the home party last Saturday, 14 admitted they were hospital-registered Aids patients or HIV carriers. Another 14 also tested positive to HIV, so there are 28 Aids patients or HIV carriers," Ling Ding, deputy director of the Centre for Disease Control, told a news conference.
"Test results also showed that 46 participants, including 14 HIV carriers, are infected with syphilis," he said. full story
A party Mike Yanus was sorry to miss, I suppose.
Wait, did they check sources thoroughly? How do they know 143 isn't down the street from 110?

Romantic?
Just what, pray tell, is romantic about shoving one's pee-pee into another's rectum?
What is romantic about ingestation of fecal matter?
When one contemplates just what it is that homosexuals are doing "in the privacy of their bedrooms" it makes one want to regurgitate.
Was Madison homosexual or normal?
