January 20, 2004 -- In an Iowa meltdown, Howard Dean got socked with a disastrous third-place finish last night, as John Kerry pulled off a stunning political comeback to win the first-in-the-nation Democratic contest for president.

Dean's collapse, combined with the combined surge of Sen. Kerry (Mass.) and Sen. John Edwards (N.C.), who finished second, threw the race wide open.

Nikita Dean has lost it, I think. I don't want a man who can't take defeat with good grace near the White House. That's regardless of party. Anger is only going to get Dean and his Kooksville supporters run off the road.

It's no wonder his wife didn't want to get involved in his campaign. His kind of "anger" doesn't come about overnight, and I'd bet she's seen it in action before.

What would be great is if Dean squeaks by with a win in the NH primary, then Sharpton or Edwards Wins SC. The Dems wouldn't know which way is up, and the battle would cost them millions extra.

I was trying to think of where he might fit in. You've hit on it. He reminds me of Lee Corso when he coached U of L and IU. Bobby Knight also comes to mind.

Wonder if Howard is a chair thrower? Since he is a Yankee's fan, imagine him in the Yank dugout coming out to argue a call. His rage works to the Billy Martin level, kicking dirt at the umpires, then he runs around and rips the bases out for good measure. What a hoot.....
