This Franken has no talent. He was a waste of time for his parents.

"I'm interested in doing what I can to affect this election," Franken said. "I've been thinking about what's the best use of my energies — I hope this is it."

Have you considered a job putting worms on hooks? If you apply yourself, Al, I'm sure you could work up to Head Master Baiter. Your past experience would be a real plus here.

The network should be named MDR, for "Money Down a Rathole". I pity the investors in this loser.

Most liberals are listening to music and probably wouldn't even be aware Franken's show is on.

I would call the show "FrankenBaiting" and have a drinking game where everytime they have to bleep out the host, everybody drinks. And if he has a melt-down, everybody chugs.

will challenge Limbaugh slot

That's funny. This will probably be the first time that Al will have to debate real opponents. Conservatives will tear him apart. He'll have to fall back on interviews with comrades. But that will be booooring radio.

Stuart Smalley is a caring nurturer, a member of several twelve-step programs, but not a licensed therapist. His show "Daily Affirmations" is on a cable access channel. The show is geared to help people with mental disabilities, such as overeating, drug abuse, and alcoholism.

Stuart himself grew up with a dysfunctional family. His father was "a big stinking drunk" who called chubby Stuart, "a waste of space." Stuart's mom is "a total loon and in complete denial about Dad's drinking," while his brother is a dope addict. Still, Stuart maintains a good and positive attitude throughout his show, while helping people solve their problems.

Don't forget, if Mary Jo had survived, Teddy would be a comfort to her in her old age.

Franken is about as entertaining and informed as Amy Goodman. He'll do just about as well, appealing to the same freaks.

Am I the only one that had never heard of Al Franken until his first "book" came out? Are there those out there that actually think this guy is funny, or anything more than butt ugly?

I doubt Rush is very worried.

"He has no one on the show but it's confrontation," Franken said. "His show is just him railing for three hours."

His show runs for 4 hours at times if you subscribe to his online service. Rush will still be offering more as Al Franken tries to mimic Rush's success.

"He has no one on the show but it's confrontation," Franken said. "His show is just him railing for three hours."

Franken said he planned to use a mix of interviews, calls from listeners and scripted comedy. He said he planned to have a co-host with long experience in radio as a crutch, but said that role had not been finalized.

Obviously his doofus is deliberately lying to the media about Rush's show. Rush takes calls every day and opens the show to just handle calls on Fridays (open line Fridays is when Rush turns over his program to listeners). Rush has also aired scripted comedy for a long time (song parodies, faked conversations between Democrats, phoney Public Service Announcements...). Rush doesn't have guests often but it does happen at times; he also has some conversations with callers (pro and con) that run for over 20 minutes. Rush even turns his program over to guest hosts rather than airing a lot of reruns.

Al Franken is a lying liar.

He also said he very much wanted to do the show during a presidential election year. "I'm interested in doing what I can to affect this election," Franken said.

Well this certainly is one way around CFR.

I remember some of his first appearances on SNL where he would wear a satellite dish on his head.

I stayed in this Saturday (first in a long time) because I had come back from a roadtrip that afternoon. I watched SNL for the first time in years. Al was doing one of these satellite bits on the "news".

He was "with the troops" in Iraq or Afghanistan. He was playing up the fact the the troops had been there so long that their wives were giving birth to babies that they had never seen. The bit closed with Axis Sally's old propaganda bit (unattributed of course) that one of the babies was conceived after the soldier went overseas.

These scum will ply their propaganda wherever they can to reduce morale. He may have made his joke from a studio with actors but it was still an ancient bit of propaganda that he spun.
