Looks like the racist former Congresswoman is running again for Congress. I so hoped that she would be the Green nominee this year if Nader passed it up (and I understand that he did pass up running on the Green ticket). She is running against Denise Majette again. Both she and her family blamed her defeat on the J-E-W-S. The media glossed this part over and blamed Republicans for crossing over and voting for her opponent in the primary.

She could win, because, I don't know what the level of enthusiasm is among 4th district GOP'ers to crossover again.

I know I'd prefer to vote for Mac Collins in the GOP primary.

No republican has a chance of winning that seat. To allow McKinney to win a democrat primary and thus return to congress should be avoided at all costs.

Campaign stops are being planned. She will be speaking and fund-raising at the Temple Emanu-El in Atlanta. Her father is requesting that all J-E-W-S attend and lend their full support.

Text of the article:
Former Rep. Cynthia A. McKinney, Georgia Democrat, will run again, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The newspaper quoted her father, former state Rep. Billy McKinney, as saying she wants a rematch against Rep. Denise L. Majette, who defeated her in the Democratic primary in 2002.

Billy McKinney said his daughter had turned down an invitation to run for president by the Green Party, calling it "just too way out for Cynthia."

He said her opposition to the Iraq war, the Bush administration's Middle East policy and concern about intelligence failures before the September 11 terrorist attacks will put her back in office, United Press International reports.

"Everything Cynthia has said has proven to be true," Mr. McKinney said.

"Everything Cynthia has said has proven to be true," Mr. McKinney said.

Boy, I'd like to see some documented details on that!

You are right...which is just said. Rep. Majette has represented that district much better than McKinney ever did. Man, I wish she would have run on the Green ticket.

Majette will have a money advantage, and the support of the GA Democratic party, something which McKinney did not enjoy.

Of course, this district is abouthalf black, and they see Majette as a tool of white's.

Even the well off blacks in the 4th voted overwhelmingly for McKinney. (2 to 1, I believe).

If one votes in the primary against McKinney, he cannot vote in the GOP Senate primary. I doubt too many Republicans will turn out against McKinney this time. Majette, being the "don't-rock-the-boat" incumbent, may be able to win without Republican crossover votes.

It terrifies me to think that there might actually be something, somewhere that's "just too way out there" for Cynthia McKinney. :)

How people like McKinney get elected to Congress speaks volumes about Congress itself. We could live without the lot. McKinney's not wrapped right.

Freepers will recall that McKinney is currently a visiting professor at Cornell University.
