Wild salmon caught off the California coast was not included in the study.

Too bad. We have some great salmon coming from places like, Bodega Bay, Morro Bay, Half Moon Bay, Santa cruz, etc. Right about now we it's coming from Alaska, though.

I am about to head to the farmer's market to get some wild salmon...

I live on the upper Yukon and most people have their fish camps with set nets or fish wheels. Last summer the king run was pretty good. Had friends getting 35 kings a day out of fish wheel basket. People around here live on salmon.

It use to be a commercial seasonal activity, but the feds shut it all about down. Now only can fish for a few days; but everyone gets more than they need to freeze, smoke, and dry for their dogs; under subsistence regs.

NOw if we only had the processors flying fish out from the villages, there would be economic activity rather than welfare.
