Hey I have an 'old standby' name of Virginia, which kids in school thought it was great to make fun of because it can be compared to a certain body part on a woman...lemme tell ya how fun THAT was...

I used to know a girl whose last name was Rape. I also had a cousin by marriage whose last name was Raper.
I know I would change it a little if those were mine. Maybe Rapier.

Hey I have an 'old standby' name of Virginia, ...... That is my daughter's middle name, given to her in remebrance of my husband's favorite aunt.
I grew up in an Irish/Italian Catholic neighborhood and all the girls were Maureen, Eileen, Kathleen, Anne Marie, Anna Maria, Maria............not me. I'm sure everyone can imagine what was done to the name Gabrielle.

Seriously, I have a cousin Virginia.
My great aunt was named Norfa. (born in the late 1800s). No-one has any explanation of where the name is from.
