GWB is doing the right thing for the right reason. We cannot and will not put machine guns and troops on our southern border to keep out peaceful people whose alternatives are to stay in Mexico and starve or crawl across the border to work hard for low wages.

The U.S. needs this growing work force to help pay for the retirement benefits of the baby boomers. Anyone getting the legal card must be on a payroll, so they will be paying income and payroll taxes.

My first presidential vote was for Barry Goldwater, and I don't take a back seat on conservative principles to anyone. And I certainly will not sit out an election and allow this nation to be taken over by someone like Clinton, or vote for someone like Perot or Buchanan.

I support it especially because of the National Security benefits. Illegals will be much more obvious and visible if there are only 1 or 2 million versus 8-12 million. The ones that came here to do us harm or to engage in criminal activity will be much more easily identified and found.
