But when I go into the Quicki-Mart near where I work, I see people supported by my taxes dropping $50 a day, with "boxed" and "reversed" and things I didn't know our state lottery did. "Three of the 3 number, two of the 5-number. (That's the AM drawing, right?) Give me a 4-number for tonight, boxed, and five of those 2$ scratch-offs." You are right. A tax on those who are bad at math.

I make good money selling lottery games (including Keno) in my bar. I don't play 'em, but I sure am glad a lot of other people do! Most of the players are hardworking folks who like to dream about winning a truckload of money.

It's entertainment, pure and simple.

Sadly, I have seen a elderly woman plop down $100 in mixed bills for 100 $1 scratch off tickets. In fact I have seen her do this twice at the convenience store near my office. Other people in my office have seen here multiple times as well. She then plays all of the tickets sitting outside the store, barely even reading what she scratched (I assume she has the game rules so memorized she can tell if she won).

She is an addict, blowing whatever savings she has on these games. Sad.

Give me your months finances and let me tell you how much you waste on "needless" things that could have went towards bettering your family. Save me your righteous attitude. I spend maybe $5 every 3 or 4 weeks (depending on its size)... WAY better than tabacco
