This confirms something I've felt for a long time, which is that the big issues of our day are spiritual, having to do with the nature of man, the nature of good and evil, righteousness and justice, particularly as they manifest themselves in public discussion, institutions, laws, culture, and the virtue of personal behavior. The big conflicts today are spiritual in nature.
