Over the generations we have received optimistic pepople from every part of the world. By tradition and by history we are a welcoming society. Every generation of immigrants has reaffirmed assimilating newcomers.
Between 1891 and 1920 we received 18 million men and women from other nations. The children of immigrants helped liberate the land of their ancestors.

It's not that they're not welcome. They should do it legally and at their own expense.

Between 1891 and 1920 we received 18 million men and women from other nations. After freeing the slaves, American workers no longer had to compete with slave labor.
So the wealthy classes had to do something to keep American workers down.
So they made American workers compete with immigrant labor.
And they told you how noble immigration is.
And you bought it.

My husband and I were debating the point that our country was founded on immigrants, has grown with immigrants. My only beef is that then the majority of them came in legally. These are illegal immigrants, and will be allowed to remain in our country, even after breaking the law.
Of course, the increase in tax revenue must have Congress drooling.

Today's "immigrants" expect everyone else to speak THIER language, and want to transfer their homeland here. The immigrants of 1891-1920 came here to be real Americans, and build a better nation. The overwhelming number of todays immigrants are here for what they can get at someone elses expense.
