...Recently, my hometown newspaper featured a front page article by none other than a muslim professor teaching at our local college. His article, of course, was against the war in Iraq and was anti-American. I just shuddered because I know 90% of the people in our town disagree with everything he said and everything he stands for but few will say anything because of political correctness. Also, his status as a professor protects him. Homeland security had better be monitoring EVERY mideast "professional" who has come to this country over the past 30 years. This is war and it is here.
Just like what's going on Pakistan right now.
Three months ago I read from an Iranian student that AQ next move would be to aquire Paks Nukes. I have raised that info on this forum many times but no one seemed interested ...

And it’s titled: How I Came to Love the Veil. Ridley’s premise is that Islam respects women much more than the Western world.
I think the mainstream media can’t possibly surprise me any more. Then they do something like this.

Simple. Thirty years ago they had not the numbers to press for their own way. They've always felt this way, they just didn't want anyone to know until they had the power to make you say "uncle". It's the same reason the U.S.A. didn't have problems with illegal Latinos making demands until the last few years. They knew we'd round'em up and send'em home.

We have reported extensively on the Congressional campaign of Keith Ellison (formerly known by aliases including Keith Hakim, Keith X Ellison and Keith Ellison-Muhammad). Ellison's history includes an association with the Nation of Islam that extended over at least nine years, about which Ellison has repeatedly lied. Those lies have been repeated as facts in the local press, even though they are easily disproved by reference to local newspaper articles. As a radical activist, Ellison also has a long history of support for gang members and others who murder policemen--a history from which Minnesota's mainstream media have resolutely averted their eyes.
Still, though, word of the seamier side of Ellison's character appears to have percolated into the awareness of quite a few voters, mainly through Scott's efforts. Diagnoising Death through Demographics
As a long-time fan of Mark Steyn I looked forward to reading this interview with him out of Human Events, just as I have long-anticipated his book America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It.
One of Steyn's consistant themes over the past few years is a warning that Europe was not merely the sick patient of the West - that she was actively transitioning from life unto death, and death will bring no victory, only only backward momentum:
Basically the European nations are dying and the populations in them are turning into relatively hostile Muslim populations, not all of them terrorists, but all of them, almost all of those people not sympathetic to America and American interests...As if to whet your appetite, Brussels Journal has today a piece along the same lines, and just as sobering and demonstrative:
The German author Henryk M. Broder recently told the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant (12 October) that young Europeans who love freedom, better emigrate. Europe as we know it will no longer exist 20 years from now. Whilst sitting on a terrace in Berlin, Broder pointed to the other customers and the passers-by and said melancholically: “We are watching the world of yesterday.” Europe is turning Muslim.The number of emigrants leaving the Netherlands and Germany has already surpassed the number of immigrants moving in.“If faith collapses, civilization goes with it,” says [Tom] Bethell. That is the real cause of the closing of civilization in Europe. Islamization is simply the consequence.
Those, like Rosie O' Donnell, who would lump the Taliban and American Christians into the same boat do not realize that in doing so they are consigning themselves to Europe's fate. And Europe is dying. Europe will not fight.

A misunderstood religion called Islam
T Thomas wrings his hands in the Business Standard of India over the widespread misunderstanding of Islam: not those committing violence in the name of Islam, mind you, but those who have the audacity to think that Islam may have something to do with inciting violence as a result.
We need to ask, is Islam perhaps a much-misunderstood religion. The 1993 bomb blasts, following the demolition of Babri Masjid, and the more recent July 2006 bomb blasts in Mumbai’s suburban trains have led many people in India to equate aspects of Islam with terrorism. The September 11, 2001, incident in New York turned most of the Western world to that way of thinking. Yet Prophet Mohammed never propagated violence while imparting his teachings. He urged his followers to fast and pray and to give a part of their wealth to charity. Many Muslims carry out these obligations very diligently even today. Muslims revere Jesus Christ as a prophet. According to Islam, Jesus did not die on the Cross and it will be Christ who will return on Judgment Day. In spite of this acknowledgement of Christ in Islam, the Christian West is more anti-Islam than even the Hindus of India, who suffered under Islam for five centuries.

Narrated Abu Qilaba: Anas said, "Some people of 'Ukl or 'Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them. So the Prophet ordered them to go to the herd of (Milch) camels and to drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they went as directed and after they became healthy, they killed the shepherd of the Prophet and drove away all the camels. The news reached the Prophet early in the morning and he sent (men) in their pursuit and they were captured and brought at noon. He then ordered to cut their hands and feet (and it was done), and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron, They were put in 'Al-Harra' and when they asked for water, no water was given to them." Abu Qilaba said, "Those people committed theft and murder, became infidels after embracing Islam and fought against Allah and His Apostle ."
It has been reported from Sulaiman b. Buraid through his father that when the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) appointed anyone as leader of an army or detachment he would especially exhort him to fear Allah and to be good to the Muslims who were with him. He would say: Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war, do not embezzle the spoils; do not break your pledge; and do not mutilate (the dead) bodies; do not kill the children. When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them....If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them.

I’ve just finished the book and although I’ve read extensively on the subject of Mohammed and the origins of Islam, this biography—drawn entirely from primary Islamic sources—taught me quite a bit about the actual life of Islam’s prophet. For those of us who’ve also studied Christianity, the contrasts are striking between the founders of these two religions—especially when presented, as in Spencer’s book, in a coherent and consecutive narrative (which the Koran is not).
Given the current climate of fear surrounding any criticism of Islam, this book took real courage to write, and to publish. Two public buses torched in Paris suburb.
CLICHY-SOUS-BOIS, France - Police deployed 4,000 reinforcements as marauding youths torched at least two public buses Friday, the anniversary of the deaths of two teenagers that ignited weeks of riots in largely immigrant housing projects across France.
After the buses were burned, Paris’ transport authority curtailed bus service in the Seine-Saint-Denis region north of the capital, which is home to thousands of immigrants and their French-born children.
Thierre Ange, a 19-year-old witness, said four men attacked the bus, “made everyone get off, then they hit a woman and dragged out the bus driver by his tie” and torched the bus with a gasoline bomb in a bottle. The blackened carcass of another bus that was burned earlier stood across town in Le Blanc Mesnil.
The Associated Press imparts to us their received wisdom about the root causes of the intifada:
Flaming cars became a symbol of the rioting last year, which jolted France into recognizing a failure to give equal opportunities to many minorities — especially those of Arab and black African origin — and the country’s 5 million-strong Muslim population.
