Well, it's not really all that much data gathering and not impressive at all. Just following the IP address and login trail through the server logs. The real killer is this guy does a lot of his trolling while on the job. A real cushy government job (State of NC - State Telecommunications Services NC-GOV - NET-NC Dept of Environment and Natural Resources). He's using government facilities, government time and our tax dollars to disrupt our anti-government corruption and waste forum and attempting to drive people away with his rantings.

How does it feel to get trolled by a government agent?

Is there any way to bust him?

Thanks for the info. I was just about to say he's posting either from a state gov't office or a college campus IP address!

It makes me want to drop him, without a parachute, right over...the private sector.

Cant we contact the system administrator ala Freep style and out this guy?

I mean really...he is totally entitled to rant all he wants, but not at taxpayer expense.

What say you?

We, in Boston, had a similar problem with an employee of the city health system organizing ANSWER rallies on city time. Thanks to protests from from concerned citizens she was soon unemployed.

Jim, this is clearly against NC state government policy on use of government property. Not only is this misuse of government property, but it's also reflects poorly on the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources. Are you going to drop the dime on this creep?

BillyBob, here's a whacko from your neck of the woods (see post 25).

Feels great! Specially when we get the sicko weenie fired for playing while presumably working.
Didn't we get one of those losers fired last year for doing the same thing also in NC? Is this the same guy?

Jim --

As suggested by another poster on this thread, I think that someone should "drop a dime" on this guy for doing this stuff on government time and equipment. If it cost him his job, or at least got negative remarks in his personnel file so he lost a few raises or promotions, that would be a measure of justice for his stupidity.

Ah! I see. He is an NC State employee or (student?). As a taxpayer in NC and as his employer or state education benefactor, I would very much like to know who he is.

NC PING! Troll using NC Taxpayer funded computer systems! Repeatedly.

(Let me know if you want on or off the NC Ping List)

It is possible to get him in ALOT of hot water with his on the job posting behavior.
Internet harrassment stuff and such.
Back many years ago at Rysher Forums there was a guy just as obsessed who went by the nickname of Valentine's Kiss.
He had WebTV and dial up, so he figured he could troll with impugnity.
Long story short, he got his WebTV shut down and his dial up provider put him on a permanent static isp addy, which was also promptly nuked.

Not sure if it's the route we really want to go with some of these 'guys', but it's worth keeping in the back pocket just in case.
