[history]
In a move that could put heat on the Legislature to overhaul the state's workers' compensation system, a business group with ties to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has proposed a ballot initiative that would mandate many of Schwarzenegger's proposals for cutting workers' comp costs.

Schwarzenegger's workers' comp proposal could face trouble in the Legislature because it strikes at core Democratic constituencies Lawyers

(Yawn)
So the ballot initiative gets approved, the scumbag liberals sue, a scumbag liberal court discards the will of the voters, and California is right back where it started. What a farce.
Wake me up when the state finally goes belly up and a "Congressional Oversight Committee" is appointed to take over and run the sick place the same way Washington DC. is run. The best thing that could happen to California would be to go belly up real soon while the Republicans would have the chance to dictate the makeup of an "oversight committee" that wouldn't see tax hikes as the "solution" to California's bankruptcy.

Arnold is a patient guy but the legislature is pushing it. Arnold was elected with a mandate (a 17 point margin of victory) and they are stalling. If the Democrats fail to act, California is prepared to throw the bums out in November. Arnold just needs to say the word.

Not so long ago, Remember the open mic incident? ;-) Lots of fun ahead.
Open Mic Catches California Democrats (AP) - Unaware that a live microphone was broadcasting their words around the Capitol, Assembly Democrats meeting behind closed doors debated prolonging California's budget crisis for political gain. Members of the coalition of liberal Democrats talked about slowing progress on the budget as a means of increasing pressure on Republicans. A microphone had been left on during the closed meeting Monday, and the conversation was transmitted to about 500 "squawk boxes" that enable staff members, lobbyists and reporters to listen in on legislative meetings. |

That is political gold. Even Gray Davis was never so corrupt with power to talk openly about savaging the California people for political advantage. He did so through incompetence. I hope Arnold and his surrogates use this incident as a rationale for cleaning house in Novemeber.

Arnold kicks ass, much more than a "true" Republican who never lived in California, but has plenty of opinion on how to run MY state.

Hope the political elite are getting the message.
More and more structural changes are being sought directly by the electorate.
When that starts happening on a frequent basis it's a sure sign that the governance is out of touch with the realities that surround them.
