Attorney General Reilly: Above the Law
Massachusetts Gun Owners | 1/3/04

Posted on 01/03/2004 7:13:01 AM PST by pabianice

We all know that Massachusetts Attorney General Reilly --darling of the Liberals -- is a foaming-at-the-mouth gun-grabber, but he is now outdoing even himself, clearly violating the law, and laughing at us while he does it. Wait until you hear this one.

Massachusetts has the dismal distinction of leading the victim disarmament movement, and of punishing the law-abiding while it releases career sex offenders into the population to rape and kill again. In 1998, Massachusetts passed the most vicious anti-gun laws in the country, under which it has become impossible for tens of thousands of law-abiding citizens to own a firearm. Reilly then unilaterally declared guns "unsafe consumer products" and banned the sale of almost all handguns and many rifles in the state. To this day, he refuses to tell a buyer what gun His Excellency permits to be sold in Massachusetts. Literally, you have to buy a gun and then see if he comes after you for a jail term or fine. Pure insanity. The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court -- the same one that just ruled that Massachusetts must marry gay couples -- has blessed Reilly's campaign. The Kerry Liberals just chortle with glee.

Well, not one to let either grass or freedom grow under his feet, Reilly has struck again. He has sent letter to the country's ammunition component sellers telling them that if they send any ammunition components or loading equipment to Massachusetts, he will send them to jail and break them financially. When Al Copone did this it was called "organized crime." When Tom Reilly does this, it is called "for the children" and the Massachusetts Liberals celebrate with a wine and cheese party. You see, to Liberals, everyone must be allowed to do whatever they want ... unless Liberals disagree with it. Then, it must be banned. So now they are going after guns by making it unlawful to sell loading components. In the works is an order making it unlawful to send manufactured ammo to Massachusetts. And that will be it.

We've had this before. It was called the Clinton Nightmare: "Stroke of the pen; rule of the land. Cool!" And its coming to a state near you. Unilateral fiat by the state's attorney general. Cool.

Isn't Concord located in Massachussets? I recall a pivotal event there in the spring of 1775, led by a British major named Howe. Is it time for a modern day version of this event?

This guy sounds like Attorney General Eric Sanderson. We know what happened to him in fiction-land.

I'm always amazed to find that any conservative is left in Mass. Why on earth would anyone stay there? It's really not that hard to move and start over. In fact it can be a great adventure. Expands one's perspective. I believe that the liberals of Mass should be allowed to live with the consequences of their liberal policies. JMHO.

Well why don't you leave West Virginia then? They are about as Democrat as Massachusetts. At least we have a Republican governor. Can't say the same for West Virginia, can you?

My point is that we need to stand and fight for our cause in all 50 states. We should not write any of them off. What if we wrote off the South back when they were only voting Democratic? There will come a time when the political pendulum swings our way in Massachusetts and I intend to be part of it.

BTW, Massachusetts is a wonderful place to live.
