Hate speech of the left

IN DECEMBER 1994 I wrote the first of what would become a yearly series of columns on the subject of liberal hate speech. That was the year Republicans swept the midterm elections to win control of Congress, and ideological passions were running high. I had noticed that when a prominent Republican or conservative said something offensive about liberals, it typically set off a storm of media condemnation, while an anti-conservative smear voiced by a liberal or a Democrat rarely drew any protest. There was no end of sour commentary, for example, when Newt Gingrich recommended that Clinton Democrats be portrayed as "the enemy of normal Americans." It was an outrageous remark, and Gingrich deserved the drubbing he received.

I don't know...that George Bush is Hitler is about the most cogent argument I've heard the "anti-war" crowd make. Of course, it is still a bit of disgusting, tinfoil hat insanity, but then again, that is a pretty good discreption of the "anti-war" movement too.

Since the Left created the modern term "hate speech," I suppose they figure it gives them the right to employ it. After all, who can accuse them when they were the first to "discover" such a thing? But seriously, the Left is filled with some of the most black-hearted folk I've ever met.

True - for those who actually see it. If you watch FNC or listen to talk radio or see any of several sites (FreeRepublic, WND, etc) on the Internet, you see it. But there are many who only see the lamestream media, who don't have a clue.

Mrs. Clinton has from her lofty perch in the Socialist sector of the left has been just as vile in her remarks about the country’s leader, but she refuses any accountability about herself, calling any such attempts a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. Gen. Wesley Clark pounds away like a fart in a skittle, sounding more and more like the fabled ‘Ugly American’ then has a tantrum when his patriotism is called on the line yet he flails away at the Commander in Chief like any bully with apparently no concept of what such hate speak is doing to our military here and those on active duty. None of the afore mentioned have any use for the US Constitution and they are the most un-patriotic, un-American vocal group, all who want Socialism for America – that is what the battle is about.

President Bush has quietly held his ground first as President and those duties; second, as a man who has tried to change ‘the tune in Washington’ and been stabbed in the back for his efforts; and third, a man who stands tall in the ethics, integrity, and shown the country and the world that America does have moral fiber – a far cry from the sordid non-leadership of his predecessor.

Ann Coulter became a bestseller without the help of any major media outlets either. With the exception of Fox News and Kaite Courics attempted media asassination attempt, Coulter couldn't get on TV unless she got arrested. Its not like when we got two solid weeks of 24 hours a day Hillary book advance promotions on every single network and every single so called news or entertainment outlet possible. Hell, Walter Mondale could have sold 1,000,000 copies if he got 100 hours of network promotion for free prior to release. Rush Limbaugh sold over 2,000,000 units of his second book without a single media outlet even mentioning it. Even Simon and Schuster forgot that it happened so that they could tout Hillary as being their faster seller ever. (They were only off by about a factor of 4)

Can you imagine how well Sean Hannity's book or Laura Ingraham or Coulter would do if they actually got fair reviews in the NYT, LATimes, Slime/Newsweak, ABCNBCCNNCBSMSNBC? It would be million seller after million seller. What a wonderful world it would be.....
