A lot of people were talking about Edwards too, and he is at 3%, even worse than Kerry. Very strange. I still don't understand the Democratic primary system though. Robert Novak is saying that if Dean wins in Iowa and New Hampshire he basically has a lock on it, because the system is so front-loaded now. How can it be that front-loaded? Is there still a "Super Tuesday?". If so, when is it?

The word was that McAuliffe and the DNC set up the primaries to allow a single candidate to grab the nomination quickly. This was supposed to help save money and the party infighting of a protracted race. Like the rest of their best designed plans, it looks like this will backfire. And why they ever thought that Iowa (with its caucus) or New Hampshire were sufficiently representative of the general electorate, I'll never know.
