It would be interesting to see how people's votes shift after the lesser candidates drop out.
Who would Kerry's voters migrate to? Gephardt's?
Has anyone done an analysis of what these poll number would mean when converted to votes? Are the primaries winner-take-all, or do the states split their delegations proportionally?

Getting Moseley-Braun into the race was an adept move on the part of the DNC. It is about the last smart thing they have done in this contest. It would have been really embarassing to have to be horse-racing between Howard Dean and Al Sharpton.
Now it looks like the more the Democrats try to block Howard Dean, the more legitimate his "insurgent" candidacy looks. This is similar to what the Democrats did back in 1976. Remember how they tried to sink Carter early on? But the fact that the party bosses were against Carter solidified his appeal with the voters.
Dean will ride a similar wave of voter resentment to the Democratic nomination.

Like, is that true? Did, like, Bush make him fight in Iran or something?

Yes, but did he serve in Vietnam?

Dean will ride a similar wave of voter resentment to the Democratic nomination......all the way to the Dem'Rats' '04 o'bliteration!!! And because of Terry McAuliffe's front loading of the primaries (in order to avoid bloody family feuds between Dem candidates), there may not be anything they can do to avoid it. Of course, though, not a single primary vote has been cast yet, and the Dem voters may have a shock in store for Dean in the person of Gephardt or Lieberman. I would love to see Dean's crazed demonic facial contortions if he lost big in some of the early primaries! He'd make Carville look sane!

The Harris Poll usually overstates Democrat strength.
Since this is a democrat candidate poll which ones do you suppose they have overstated?

I would not give too much credence to this poll.
of whom 393 were Democrats or Democratic-leaning independents
393 is too small to get a good accurate response. It is probably + or - about 7%...which means these low level numbers (4% vs 6%) are meaningless. It takes about 1000 to get to +/- 3%.

Yeah, but he threw those medals way, so we'll never really know. Or maybe it was some other guy's medals he threw? But did I tell you he was in Vietnam?

Wouldn't you think that the Kerry suppoerters would move to Dean? There is little difference between Kerry and Dean -- so little difference that Kerry has been unable to explain just what the difference is.

I'm not sure about Vietnam Veteran Senator John Kerry's service in Iran or Baluchistan or Liberia. They're not listed on the billboard advertisements. Probably just an oversight.

Yes, but did he serve in Vietnam? Surely you jest. Did Sgt York serve in WWI? Did Audie Murphy serve in WW II? Did Al Gore serve in Vietnam?

He received a Silver Star, Bronze Star with Combat V, and three awards of the Purple Heart for his service in combat. All of which he tossed over a fence in a PR stunt.

Which side was he on?CONGRATULATIONS! You have asked the QUESTION OF THE DAY!
Accounts vary but it appears that Vietnam Veteran Kerry was on the American side at least until he returned to America. From that point on, opinions differ greatly.

Vietnam Veteran Senator John Kerry is very proud of his service in Vietnam, but because of his character he tries not to emphasize his service in Vietnam and his many medals that he won in Vietnam during his duty in Vietnam. So, if Vietnam Veteran John Kerry fails to list his service (in addition to having served in Vietnam) in Iran or Baluchistan or Liberia, it is only because of his immense pride in having served in Vietnam!
