Organizers who a decade ago wrote Proposition 187 -- a landmark ballot measure that divided California -- are gathering signatures for a new initiative that again would attempt to prohibit illegal immigrants from receiving a broad array of public services.

But in 1998, a federal judge tossed out the measure, finding that it conflicted with federal welfare laws and that the U.S. Constitution gives the federal government exclusive jurisdiction over immigration issues.

The Constitution may grant the Feds jurisdiction over immigration issues, but it doesn't grant them the right to give our money away to illegal immigrants...

I'm not sure the changes will make much difference to the Leftists. You'll recall that, following the passage of 187, the Leftists found a sympathetic judge who ruled that the voters "didn't really know what they were voting for."

And these are the same idiots who scream that THEY are "disenfranchised"...

I would propose that California institute a new free medical shuttle service. Illegal aliens from Mexico who show up at the emergency room will be stabilized and then transported for free to a Mexican hospital for further treatment.

Anyone else like that idea?

Abel Maldonado, a Republican state Assemblyman from San Luis Obispo who served as an adviser to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's campaign to replace Davis, said the initiative needlessly would reignite bitter racial politics. "We don't need propositions that would divide this state at this time. That's not the business we're in," Maldonado said. "Let Gov. Schwarzenegger govern for a little bit. We don't need to open old wounds."

eeeeeeeewww and it would certainly hurt your part of California's Hotel Industry were all the employees can barely speak english, RIGHT Abel Maldonado!!!!!!

"...Nextcare, believed to be the first company of its kind, so far has contracted with five U.S. hospitals to return about 50 uninsured illegal-immigrant patients to Mexico. The American hospitals pay the company to arrange transportation and treatment south of the border — usually at Nextcare's Tijuana facility, Hospital Inglés. Patients must consent in writing to the transfers."

"It's a bargain to hospitals on the California side of the border — and perhaps beyond. The average stay in a California hospital costs $1,737 a day, but Nextcare's costs can be as low as $450 daily, the company said..."

"We ... say, 'Let us take you out of this very expensive hospital and take you to our facility in Tijuana,' " he said. " 'The level of care you're going to receive is the same, maybe even better. You'll have a physician and nurses you understand. The food is something you're comfortable with. The TV is Mexican. You can call your home and have your family come and visit you.' "

Vincente Fox and his policies are the subject of this reply. The last time the United States has been so successfully invaded was when Pancho Villa raided Columbus, New Mexico. Now that we have reincarnated Pancho Villa in the form and fashion of EL PRESIDENTE FOX emulating his past hero wearing his double breasted "ZOOT SUIT"; while Pancho wore his sombrero, pistols and bandoliers riding on a horse!

What we have here is a total failure to "Communicate" I have read and written numerous articles about the illegal criminal banditry taking place on our porous un-defended southern border not to mention the northern canadian border which is just as transparent and un-defended. We seem to want to deal with the immigration problem from within instead of outside our borders by carefully screening and controlling who gets in. Immigration as we all know is out of control but we do nothing to regulate the increasing droves of criminal border jumpers.

Here is what we are allowing to happen by doing so! America is now percieved as the WORLD's SUGAR DADDY nation. What we are allowing to happen is making America the WORLD'S EASIEST Socialist Chumps! EL PRESIDENTE FOX knows this better than anyone and is playing this off as his "MEXICAN GAMBIT" to the fullest extent he can; betting on and banking on the fact that the vast majority of lazy American Citizens will continue to do as they have always done. All they do is scream and hollar a bit and then quickly revert to ignoreing the problem and find ways to justify and end up absorbing another "OUTRAGE" in another endless loop of outright Thievery and Border Jumping Banditry! EL PRESIDENTE knows full well what he is promoting from within his own country. For every illegal that slips out and by American Justice he benefits by pawning off his overburden to the United States.

Now as a result you will get to stand by and watch this Administration rubber stamp the giveaway of your hard earned inheritance and sovereign rights as an American Citizen. Social Security has been BASTARDIZED to such an extent since its inception that most people (AMERICANS)cannot remember what it was originally conceived to do, serve and benefit! Social Security was originally conceived to specifically and soley take care of our American Families; Particularly Widows, Orphans and Aid to dependent children. It was never designed to or intended to engraciate every TOM,DICK,and Alien YAHOO that breezes by looking for a handout! It was never intended to bolster or pay off the National Debt and it certainly was never intended to underwrite the International Monetary Fund either.

I make no distinction as to party affilation with this next statement; (liberals) on both sides of the aisles of Congress are chomping at the bit to get into bed and do business with the likes of EL PRESIDENTE FOX. They are more than anxious to flat out give away National Birthright and sovereign Inheritance you have worked for your entire life.

I for one am not willing to see this proceed any farther down the liberal socialist pathway. If you cannot see the wisdom of what I am saying here then you (ARE) that socialist stooge who wants to see all you have worked for stolen out from under your very noses. I can hear all you nay sayers out there now; saying we cain't do anything about this created mess that Congress looks the other way on. Whether by stealth or mass ignorance this problem continues to grow and expand beyond our immediate ability to control. I will offer a simple; yeah! I've heard this before solution as to how to turn all this around. It starts at the grassroots level. First let your Senators and Congress people know that you know what they are doing in respect to all this. Any public official that is elected by "WE THE PEOPLE" are answerable to "WE THE PEOPLE" and we do have the power to reverse their lack of service that flows contrary to the will of the people who elected them and expressly those who gained power by being appointed to their positions. It only requires Persistence and Determination along with follow up pressure to force them if necessary to act on our behalf. We have at our disposal IMPEACHMENT, A Recall Election, and a vast number of Legislative incentives to stimulate desirable REDRESS from them.

EL PRESIDENTEFOX is the chief Criminal Bandit Of Mexico and is trying to use our willing liberal socialist stooges in Congress to facilliate his Mexican Gambit. We need to strongly deliver a direct message that Social Security is for American Citizens "ONLY"; the way it was originally intended. We must quit living in ignorance and denial; exposing the soft underbelly of america to socialist Traitors who attack our way of life and steal our Birthright and hard earned sovereign Inheritance! GET LEGAL; OR GET OUT! and stay out of America!

"While Proposition 187 was backed by then-Gov. Pete Wilson and other Republican leaders, some GOP officials worry that another immigration-related measure could hurt the party. "

(sorry I dont know how to "quote" articles)

Sometimes you just have to do what's right. And I would say that upholding Prop 187 and getting illegals to go home and stay there (sorry if that sounds harsh) is the RIGHT thing to do for the good of our Country. And what's good for the Country is ultimately good for the party.

Why allow lawbreakers to profit??

Its about time. And for nervous Republicans who think this will put the "Pummel Pedro" card in play against them, haven't been paying attention to how Americans really regard the entire issue of illegal immigration. We don't want an amnesty type giveway or public services for them, period. Does the drivers' license issue ring a bell with these folks? Someone should remind President Bush, Karl Rove, Tom Ridge, Abdel Maldonado, and Gerry Parsky, we are first and foremost a country of LAWS. And this is by no means a partisan or ideological issue. Virtually every American is affected by the issue and while the American people are welcoming of immigrants, it still doesn't give uninvited guests permission to take up residence in one's home. And we're taking our country back. The elite still may not get the message, but they will.

Wow, why don't you say how you really feel ;)

I TOTALLY agree with your assessment of the Social Security program and have emailed, faxed and called practically every congress, senate person I could, begging to NOT give away SS to lawbreakers!!

I even emailed President Bush about it.

However what I dont agree with is that SS was for the citizens that you mentioned it is for RETIRED ELDERLY people ONLY and should remain for ELDERLY RETIRED folks who cannot support themselves after in most cases they worked and supported themselves and their families for 40-50 years. And were proud to support themselves and considered welfare a insult to themselves and their families.

Folks, whoever posted this is right about SS, we need to stand behind the seniors who were very proud to support their country and their government and were PROUD Americans and stood for everything that Americans and Republicans have stood for all these years. They deserve better. They are good Christian families who beleive in taking care of their own. Lets not let them down now when they need us the most!

Download?

No problem here. I used the printer icon at the left end of the Adobe Acrobat tool bar across the top of the page.

If you have further problems try emailing them at the address given there. Acrobat can be annoyingly slow.

Which all brings to mind the fact that you do need to have
Acrobat on your machine. If you don't, there is a link on the petition page that takes you to the free Acrobat download so you can then load the petition.

Good luck. If problems persist, contact them. I bet they'll mail you petitions if you send a stamped, self addressed envelope.

A lot of the RINO's who will oppose this, are really Dems given the task of presenting the appearance of their being two parties, while blocking any real opposition to the Dem agenda

How many times do we have to vote for legislation such as this? Each time we do some socialist-commie group runs it up to a liberal court and the rest is history.

I will vote for it if/when it shows up on the ballot.
