I was driving down to my brother's in Richmond for an early Christmas dinner, listening to C-SPAN, and almost had to pull over because I was crying so hard. Not because I thought he didn't deserve it, but because I was so heartbroken that the country had come to that.

You're kidding, right?
Intimidation of women, lying under oath, rape. You're sorry he was impeached?

I understand how you felt. The first time I saw a U.S. president was when I protested Clinton as he went to church with his five pound Bible. I called out to him to resign the presidency. It was sad, indeed.

Something I'll never understand about why there wasn't a slam-dunk on Obstruction of Justice or Witness Tampering.
1. Clinton's secretary testified that he came to her to "refresh his memory" about what happened.
2. In that meeting he, said over and over again, "We were never alone, right? You were always there, right?"
3. Unless he was being serviced right in front of Mrs. Currie, the above statement was absolutely false, and could not have been part of a memory refresh. i.e., it was obvious coaching of the witness to give false testimony.
Slam-dunk!
If the Senate would have concentrated on this point alone, there would have been sufficient support for removal from office. But I never heard it mentioned after the trial in the house.

Not because I thought he didn't deserve it, but because I was so heartbroken that the country had come to that. I remember listening to Lindsey Graham. He, too, was brokenhearted that he had to vote to impeach the President. He was really torn up. The two of you have kinder souls than I do. I was so outraged by what he had done to this country that I had no room for sorrow.

It was much worse than that.
The action of the senate a short time later is the point at which the Republic ceased to exist.
The whole thing was just a dog and pony show, considering the affair started with bribery and extortion and the free flow of Communist Chinese money into the pockets of both alleged parties, from Ken Starr to the Clintons themselves and everyone in between, and ended with a trivial bit of nonsense involving a pervert and a slut.
Clinton should have been hanged for treason but both parties' utter corruption assured nothing would be done except to seal all the evidence for fifty years.
The lesson of Clinton's impeachment is that both parties are totally corrupt and a policy of mutually assured destruction prevents anything ever happening to change things.
The Republic is dead! Long live the Empire!

I think there was something like 120 daily newspapers around the country CALLING FOR HIS RESIGNATION. Even some of the papers we despise.
How this man can walk around so smug and have groupies still at his feet, is amazing. Talk about a double standard. Remember what happened to the last Republican who was impeached. Disgraced for life.

Not because I thought he didn't deserve it, but because I was so heartbroken that the country had come to that. I felt similarly - in 1992. I felt angry and sickened that the country had put that low-class s.o.b. in the White House. I knew he had morals lower than those of an alley cat, so nothing he did later was a suprise.

It was a sweet day! I love to remember it. I will never forget it.
One thing clinton did was bring a lot of people together in an attempt to get him ousted! I got my first computer in the summer of 1998, and I spent every night on the CNN message boards talking about bj clinton! I met so many good friends...great people....from all over the world who saw what a scum bag that man was.
Happy Happy impeachment day! I believe this makes a much better new holiday than "Kwaanza"!

This country will never be the same or at least until this generation dies out.The Democrats have been seeking vengeance every since the election and the impeachment and intend to take no prisoners.
If the Democrats are not taken down big time in the Congress America will eventually be torn apart and anyone that cant see this is blind. It is all coming from their base of liberals. They are not going to let this rest if it means destroying the country. It is politics and power and to hell with America.
There are two scenarios in this upcoming year that I look to happen.
The terrorist have got to hit America to create a political problem for Bush because they fear him and know he will fight.
Next someone from within the Democrat Party will come to the forefront like a mediator and peacenik to gain power for them. You watch and see and mark my words.
The terrorist are just looking for the right time and the Democrats are aiding them knowingly or unknowingly.
