December 19, 2003 -- For some time now, it has been apparent that the federal commission investigating the events of 9/11 has morphed from an independent effort into a politicized probe that has set its sights on George W. Bush. The latest evidence?

"There were people, certainly, if I was doing the job, who would certainly not be in the position that they were in at that time because they failed. They simply failed."

True...for example, the entire Clinton administration. Putting intelligence on hold, gutting the military, and making us look "attackable" through his & his team's antics domestically and internationally. This was an follow-up to the initial WTC bombing attempt hatched well before the actual event.

Kean seems like a decent guy. I saw him on Nightline.

Heads should roll for 9/11. Mid-level management in our intel agencies, it seems.

Don't hold your breath. No one, and I mean NO ONE, in government bureaucracy is ever held accountable. They'll find a few scapegoats, as usual, to cover the fact they themselves failed more.

Kean and his ilk are no better than those they now judge.

Want to stop this madness? Hold all of them accountable at the ballot box. They are ALL guilty of malfeasence.

Now they play the game to carve up more of the tax dollars they can direct under the auspices of "security".

Con men all.

Kristin Breitweiser, a 9/11 widow who has been a leader of the family groups, said in a recent interview: "It's been more than two years since my husband was murdered . . . and I still don't know why he's dead."

This is one 9/11 family member I'm really sick of hearing from.

Somebody needs to find the secret DNC headquarters where all these strategies are developed and "take 'em out."

The sad thing is that if the policies of the Dems had any chance of working - they wouldn't need to spin them.

This year we will be treated to the "hate Bush" theme, since, as a group, they have nothing to say about anything. I guess it's like rooting for the Cubs. You can't win the game....but at least you can hate the other team.

Actually there is a process called an investigation where all the evidence is gathered and then an opinion rendered as to responsibility. Until all the evidence is gathered, any opinion is speculation. There have been reports that the administration has stonewalled some evidence that the commission has requested. Until this is provided, the investigation is incomplete. End of story. Conspiracy theories abound and accusations fly until commission is allowed to gather all evidence.

That's why I cannot help but view with suspicion the motives of anyone who is demanding still-classified information this investigation, or demanding sensitive documents from it, or grandstanding it, or politicizing it, or pointing the finger too soon. Such people do not want the whole truth to be known about the circumstances surrounding 9/11.

Which, IMO, approaches treason.

Heads should roll for 9/11.

Think back to Pearl Harbor. Sure they blamed Kimmel and Short but the real problem was in the communication of information. There was plenty of blame to go around. But also, it was also an attack that was not given any real credance.

9-11 Commission.

Commission Members Thomas H. Kean Chair Lee H. Hamilton Vice Chair Richard Ben-Veniste Fred F. Fielding Jamie S. Gorelick Slade Gorton Bob Kerrey John F. Lehman Timothy J. Roemer James R. Thompson

This was a crock from the get-go, and is all about covering up Bubba's actions during his two terms. If they can get anything to stick to Bush, that would be an added benefit.

The best proof of this: the questions the committee didn't ask or answer, and the people they didn't talk to...

"and I still don't know why he's dead"

hhmmm, maybe it has something to do with islam--you know--that religion of pieces and the animals that support it or at least give quiet nods of encouragement.

Does anyone find the TIMIMG of the news of this 9/11 commission curious. Two days after the tremendous triumph of 'The Capture of Saddam', this curious thing hits the news all of a sudden, I feel, meant to diminish or remove the positive feelings for Bush and the administration. It is way too strange.

IMO, the mainstream media is this country's worst (and effective) enemy!

---- with all due respect, I think this girl should just silence herself. I saw her on TV last night and before. She looks like she enjoys the makeup, and enjoys the spotlight way too much. To me, she is showing no grace...... but what do I know?

"until" -- yeh, it really worked with that 'authoritative' and 'final' "Warren Commission"! LOL.

I saw her on Hardball last night. She really annoyed me - really slanted all her criticism against all things Republican going back to Reagan, avoided mentioning anything clinton.

Tommy Kean, is the biggest spender to hold the office of NJ Governor. During his stay at Morven, he increased state spending more than Brendon Byrne, Jim Florio and Jim Mc Greedy combined! He salivated over the Reagan economic boom as he implemented the Kean Socialist dreams.

His comments are merely an effort to raise his position in the Extreme Leftist "Hate the United States" crowd. He is very comfortable writing a column with his co-spender Bryne Byrne!

I saw her. You're right, and I thought she looked like she might want a job in the media some day, as a high-priced newsette. Maybe I'm wrong, though.
