former Mexican diplomat who worked in Lebanon's consular ministry office and gave out passports.

With a Mexican passport, a terrorist can get a matricula consular card, which is accepted as valid ID in many municipalities. Even if he is a suspected illegal alien and he gets stopped by the police, as long as he shows his matricula consular card, he won't be deported.

The Democrats in the CA legislature wanted to give state ID cards -- equivalent to proof of legal residence in CA -- to these potential terrorists, too.

Any terrorist can get a matricula consular card in California. People are lined up around the block to get them. You don't need a birth certificate. Then you can open a bank account at any Bank of America or Wells Fargo Bank. Wells Fargo also will accept the Guatemala Matricula card and the Chinese are lobbying to get their own "matricula" accepted by these banks.

I read somewhere that a former Bank of America official was appointed to head the INS recently.
WHAT IN THE HECK IS GOING ON?

Here in Illinois, too. Once they get an "official" ID they bank accounts and able to apply for other documents as well. Bush will get this through to pacify Fox and to put a quiet band-aid on the crumbling damn that is ILLEAGAL IMMIGRATION! Yuk!
