[history]
A proposal that would allow millions of Mexicans to return home and still collect U.S. Social Security benefits sends the wrong message.
It not only rewards millions of invading "undocumented workers" for breaking immigration laws, it also drains a predicted $650 million in benefits out of Social Security by 2050. Now add that to the $15 billion in money transfers each year to Mexico.

no one will investigate identity theft and fraud. Don't ask, don't tell, and in that fashion fraud will not exist.

The same policy and system will be created with this new Social Security policy. Criminal aliens will walk into any Social Security office and present what appears to be valid documentation to allow them to collect money. No employee will be allowed to report suspected fraud, and no one will investigate identity theft and fraud. And exactly why shouldn't all conservatives be fuming mad over this? I suppose most who aren't are retired and already collecting SS. Its ridiculous...and sadly, mainstream America doesn't even give a $hit. Trista and Ryan's wedding is more important than the reality of bending over and taking it from the IRS.

My wife, a normally extremely level headed moderate-conservative women, actually suggested we stop paying our taxes if this Social Security treason gets passed. I'd never seen her so upset over an issue like this.

Yeah but isn't Lara's dress Dreamy? I didn't watch it. I watched whatever show Trista was on a couple times (upon the kind prompting of my wife). I thought she came off as a fake, hoity-toity, b-tch myself. I bet %75 of all women and %99 of all metro/homosexuals in the continental U.S. tuned in for it though.

I'd never seen her so upset over an issue like this. I'd get upset if I just realized I was getting ripped off too.

She's aware of the corruption in government and has never been a fan of government entitlement programs. This, however, was an order of magnitude different.

Well, I totally agree with your wife and will be glad to join her. Angry? ANGRY?! I am totally LIVID!!!!!!! We get this in the same week we hear Tom Ridge "float" the illegal to legal party line????!!!!
BOTH are most likely a DONE deal. Add to the mix it is THIS week that even Rush had addressed the absolute idiocy of selling this nation down the river. ...A REPUB house, REPUB senate and REPUB President signed the assinine legislation that has allowed the not so supremes to take a first step to dismantle the first amendment.
I voted for the Pres., like, admire and have to this point SUPPORTED him, but he is ignoring more than a few concerns that are important to a number of his independent CONSERVATIVE, not party-driven constituents. As a resident of a state that was pivotal to his win (TN), I hope he listens to his heart and not his hacks on some very important issues. Borders, language and culture (to co-opt Savage's three word platform) are VERY important benchmarks. I am still waiting for the other shoe to drop on JUDICIAL appointments, the MARRIAGE amendment, etc.
ONE thing is positive. Either some attention needs to be paid to the MAJORITY of Americans. Solidly, (over 80%!!!!!!!) we oppose the legalization of ILLEGALS and giving benefits to them (if they work in the U.S. and glean its benefits, then maybe those social security payments are the price of admission)....or I will (for the first time in my entire voting life) sit out the next presidential election. Why bother, if both parties are just reverse sides of the same coin?
No, I do not want to give the Demonrats a win, but I am tired of the party I have helped dominate, sell my family, heirs and country down the river by slipping the very same legislation under our noses. No matter which party is foisting this off on us....it STINKS!!!!!!!

I am totally LIVID!!!!!!!Same here. Plus I feel so helpless. The American people have made it abundantly clear just how we feel. Our so-called leaders are well aware that most of us strongly oppose this. And they just don't care! They're going to push these things through whether we want them or not. As if it's not bad enough we have to fight an invasion of millions of illegals flooding across our borders, we also have to be ever vigilant and constantly fighting our own leaders who are seemingly eager to sell us down the river!

I just decided, while reading this thread [And whist congratulation the subject piece's author for calling the invading enemy by its name: "Criminal Alien!"] -- that unless the Bush administration turns it around and makes a stand against our domestic enemies -- the once-supreme "court" and every other feral bench included -- and begins to defend Our Nation's Sovereign Borders and to round up and expel every criminal alien invader -- I am keeping my check book in my pocket from today and for the rest of Mr Bush's term -- and will stay home on election day next year -- and encourge my family and FRiends to do the same.
This is one died-in-the-wool member of its core base the Republican Party -- which I joined, with the NRA, a couple of years BEFORE I became an American -- can strike off its supporters' lists until it and its execrable career politicians begin to represent Our Beloved FRaternal Republic's Founding Law.
And to represent me.
God save our Republic!
