DR. DEAN'S DUBIOUS DEPTH
NY Post ^ | Dec. 7, 2003 | George Will

Edited on 05/26/2004 5:17:41 PM PDT by Jim Robinson. [history]

December 7, 2003 -- HOWARD Dean is no fool. He is, however, not much of a thinker. His talk flows as rapidly as a mountain brook, but is no deeper than one of those. He is the candidate of America's professorate and others whose strongest passion is as much aesthetic as political - intellectual contempt for George W. Bush. But Dean's bantam-rooster pugnacity is not unlike Bush's shoulders-squared jauntiness that critics consider an enraging swagger.

I loved this column on several levels. It calls all the lib media on the fact that they love to pick apart every pubbie on any misstatement no matter how minoir, but they give every demonrat a free pass (can you all imagine if Dubya had said half the things that the idiot Gorebot said?).

And, Will is one of the few conservatives that has any juice on the left.

Clark and the other weenie, Dean are despoiling our ground today and tomorrow. Just like a Yankee to invade, again.

Hopefully, Virginia will not vote for any of the dwarves. It's enough we are stuck with Marky-Mark (D-Gov) for the time being and his absolutely assinine tax plan. At least he doesn't model underwear. That's the best I can say about him, bless his heart.

If Bush had referred in the primaries to Russia as "the Soviet Union" I could not have voted for him.

And that was three years ago! How dumb do you have to be not to realize that, "Hey, nobody's mentioned the Soviet Union in several years, so it must not exist anymore!"

And three cheers for Trollope. His Parliamentary novels are wonderful.

Journalists often assume physicians are well educated. Actually, medical schools are trade schools just like journalism schools which probably explains why they made the mistake in the first place.

Yes--I am a physician myself. It even begins earlier--in pre-med--when they take a very narrow science-based program.

Howard Dean's mouth resembles that of a fish. A perch.

I think he's the only dem candidate with a bald spot on the back of his head... maybe Lieberman, too.

My father-in-law always commented about one of his sons who is a physician that "He is very well trained, but not very well educated". The fact is that most physicians do not have time to read and think outside of their specialty. Unfortunately, often they think that superiority of knowledge in their specialty carries over into other fields.

I do remember Bushbeing skewered when he didn't know the President/ Prime Minister of Outer Mongolia or wherever it was.

I dare say that Bush did know that the Soviet Union is no more.

Of course. Bush was an "idiot" for not knowing the name of every Prime Minister/President of every two-bit country on the planet.

All I can say is that by the media's standards for intelligence-- speaking flawlessly before millions-- better than"average" grades in the master's program at an ivy league school --I'm even dumber than Bush. With a 138 IQ even.

The number one media rule: all Democrats are too brilliant to describe and all Republicans are as dumb as a box of rocks.

My favorite follow up story on this topic is the one about the single book discovered on the night table of that genius Adlai Stevenson after he died: The Social Register

No problem at all--the same thing has happened to me on occasion. At any rate, it was a good enough column to post twice!

If GW made this mistake they would be breaking out their dyslexia stories again. When a rat makes a mistake it is just being tired or whatever the most convenient excuse. I hate PravDAH!!!

Pray for W and The Election
