I'm a true Republican as well...mother of two young adults.....and I appreciate all types of music....

However, when I saw the lyrics to one of his new songs on drudge tonight...I had to say...ENOUGH is ENOUGH.

My son and I hardly ever disagree about anything, however, he and I had it out tonight about this. He heard me ranting when I read the lyrics.

He gave me the "free speech" arguement, and I told him that this is BEYOND that. He ended up agreeing with me.

I don't know what can be done about this, but dammit, I want to DO SOMETHING!

Lynne Cheney should never have singled out Eminem by name, in my view. Eminem has millions of fans- he is a phenomenon. If she wanted to single out the corrosive influence of rap lyrics, which I agree with, she could have done so without identifying artists by name. The point would have been made without antagonizing hip-hop's biggest artist.

Rap, like most of contemporary music, lacks musical imagination. Just saying words that rhyme and hoping a coherent sentence comes out is not artistry. The "music" in the background is repetitive, there is no lyrical content and the whole rap world is decadent and destructive to society. Eminem is a deluded human being. Well, there it is, my opinion.
