The above is an excerpt from a Rolling Stone interview with John Kerry. I didn't see this posted anywhere, I "bleeped" the 4 letter word but I heard Brit Hume mention this Rolling Stone interview yesterday and it has bugged me ever since.
I remember the nasty comments when Richard Nixon used a few cuss words in a taped private conversation that no one was ever meant to hear. I guess now it's ok for a "potty mouth" to think he can be president of the USA.
I always told my kids this language was only used by people who didn't have the vocabulary to express a thought and showed a lack of intelligence.
I've never posted before, only responded (infrequently) so excuse me if I did this wrong or it's in the wrong place!

I think you've done a useful service to call this Rolling Stone article to Freepers' attention. I just did a search, and this seems to be the first time it's been posted.
There are two things I'd suggest, however. One is always to use the original headline, with added comments in square brackets if you like. That way if someone searches for it they'll find it and not post it twice.
Second, you can publish the whole article rather than an extract, since it isn't the LA Times, Washington Post, or one of their subsidiaries such as Newsweak.
You are right to call attention to Kerry's use of a four-letter word. I think the very fact that he's doing an interview in Rolling Stone is also significant. He's trying to appeal to the youthful "Rebel Without a Cause" contingent. Pretty desperate, if you ask me.

Thanks for posting, donnalee. Instructive to see this guy's shameless pandering to the Dixie Chick voting bloc by throwing around f-bombs. The more we learn about this guy, the more pathetic we see he is.

Kerry Kerry Kerry - A man, a prostate, a surfer, a biker, a vet. A potty mouth.
Go away you Lurch looking cockold ketchup kissing Frenchman (with an "F").
To: donnalee
A candidate for the highest office in the land using the F word.
Frankly, I am stunned at this.

If I were president, we would not be in Iraq today -- we would not be at war.And the Iraqi people would be dying like flies. Those that didn't get shredded, hanged, eaten alive by dogs and wild animals, shot, beheaded, killed in acid baths or blown up, get the minor treatment, like being thrown off a 2 story roof, having their tongues cut out, having their women and daughters raped, having their arms and legs broken, whipped with iron bars and leather whips, being made to dance in an acid drip room, having their eyes put out.
All of the above was usually in public to help keep them in line.
You would have waited the required 8-12 months in order to get the TRUE coalition of the French, German and Russians, wouldn't you have Mr. Kerry?
Nevermind the billions in contracts your TRUE coalition partners had in place with Saddam.
All your usage of your perceived "in" lingo like "dude" and the snowboarding and using the "f" word to prove sense of 'cool', might work on the pothead readers of RS, but they won't on me you worthless worm.

Well, I'll be darned. He finally revealed what his middle initial really stands for.
John "F" (Vietnam) Kerry is trying to out-Dean Dean by doing an interview in an outdated rag called The Rolling Stone.

Just the sort of language that impresses the masses in campaign speeches and debates, Mr. Kerry. Go ahead and see what the reaction will be. I dare ya.

Kerry is toast. He's 30 points behind Dean in NH! That was supposed to be Kerry's for the taking. He's done. And thank goodness...the guy's double speak makes Clinton look succinct and to the point. I swear, every time I hear this guy talk I have to think, "what in the h*ll is he saying?" He contradicts himself continously. Even his speech to the Council on Foreign Affairs was utterly incoherent. It's time for Kerry to drop out - he's going nowhere FAST!

Good post, donnalee. I believe we all learned something worth knowing about Senator John F. Kerry.
And it doesn't have anything to do with his serving in Viet Nam...

Is Kerry going to stuff his pants ala Gore? I suppose he is trying to show he is in touch with the common man by using such language. What a crock.

Thank goodness he didn't use the f-word to describe members of a major religion who happened to have been born out of wedlock. That would have REALLY been offensive. No Democrat would EVER do that.
To: donnalee
I just heard Tony Snow and Carl Cameron talk about this on Fox and immediately checked to see if it was posted. Good job.
As to Kerry, the word "dimwitted" springs to mind.

I guess now it's ok for a "potty mouth" to think he can be president of the USA. In fairness, I thought it was cool when then candidate Bush informed Dick Cheney that Adam Clymer was a "major league a..h...".
My thought on Kerry's choice of language is it is stupid as it smacks of an attempt to sound oh-so-hip because of who was interviewing him, plus few will agree with him that President Bush has screwed up Iraq, but most people thought Bush was probably on to something with his assessment of Clymer.
