I'm not familiar with this case. Do you have a source showing them to be illegals?

I don't have the source handy right now, but they were all illegal aliens. Four were from Mexico and one was from (I believe) El Salvador.

You could always check at google or perhaps the archive at the N.Y. Post's website.
