Nah, they don't plant GPS chips in their butts. It's just an RFID chip, smaller than a grain of rice, planted behind his ear. Every time he goes in and out of a library, mall, chain store etc, it activates it's digital signal.

But that's all secondary, just to keep tabs on him, and ensure that he's being honest with his CIA handlers when he reports in for his monthly debriefings.
