there are implications to choosing which bathroom to enter? Yeah, I guess, if I, an obvious female, walk into a men's bathroom, the implication is that i'll be embarrassed. the only other thing I concern myself with is how clean the restroom is.

Ana Minyan, the moderator of the panel, said that bathrooms will be called gender-neutral, rather than co-ed, because, this terminology is generally used to refer to two sexes while the gender-neutral tends to be associated with more diversity and fluidity within the sex-gender continuum. As our aim is to make everyone, no matter what their gender and/or sexual persona is, more comfortable, we are using the term gender-neutral. More fluidity can be important when you're going to the bathroom.

The bathrooms would materially remain the same, but both sexes would be allowed to use either one. There are already bathrooms like this in Pierce and BJ. You don't say.

So the women's room image has a dress on it? Who cares? When you gotta go, ya gotta go, and I'm not going to spend any time agonizing over "self-labeling".
No doubt. It doesn't seem to be a problem in Scotland, after all. >:)

I accidently went into the mens room recently, fortunately no one was in it at the time. My first clue was a urinal hanging on the wall.

Rather than the cost of an entire bathroom, just purchase a nice, sharp butcher knife. Hand the trans-gender the knife and tell him if he whacks it off and castrates himself, then he can enter the girls' room. In most cases, the knife would be handed back and he goes to the boys' room. In those rare cases when one does, he wasn't going to use it properly anyway, so there's no real loss to society.

(Just my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary. You have the right to be wrong.)

Hmm.... We had unisex bathrooms in the regular dorms at U of Michigan. No urinals- just stalls, and all the showers cubicles had their own doors. Nothing particularly special about the set-up.

She pointed out that many womens restrooms have a caricature of a person in a dress on it"
This is what comes of trying to appeal to the illiterate. In the old days the bathrooms would be labeled "Ladies" or "Gentlemen" (and still are in a few remote outposts), and no one had to worry if their attire fit the picture.

Except that it probably would be a good idea to segregate those who stand from those who sit. Guys tend to stand and women, well, sit.
Most women would probably like to keep it that way because guys have trouble hitting the target.
I wonder, when given a choice, how many women would want to use the men's bathroom. Probably not too many.

Now we have to deal with sub-illiterates.

So, instead of an image of a dress, put an image of a vagina on the women's bathroom door. On the men's door, put the image of a penis.
Problem solved.

No... I think its "Pierce" as in pierced nipple (and other body parts)
and
BJ....as in Lewinski
