Eyewitness News has learned that Sugar Land police has completed its investigation of radio talk show host Jon Matthews.
Eyewitness News was first to tell you that Matthews is under investigation over allegations of indecency with a child. Radio station KSEV took him off the air as a result of the investigation.
We're told the Sugar Land Police Department has forwarded its information to the district attorney's office.

I sincerely hope justice prevails over this case.

I heard from the county chairman of the Republican party, in my county, that all Jon did was use a four letter word in the presence of a young kid. Anyone heard more?

that all Jon did was use a four letter word in the presence of a young kid That's *all* he did? Noone better use that language in front of my child. I don't think I'd file a police report, but it certainly reveals a character flaw.

Is this your Sugarland?

Is this your Sugarland? Had been the home of Imperial Sugar Co., thus Sugar Land.

Such allegations, even if proven untrue and slanderous, can never be overcome. This will stay with Jon forever.
I hope it's not true, but if it is, he deserves the harshest of penalties!
What's next? The DA turns the information over to a grand jury or does he make the call to indict Jon himself?

How long has Jon Matthews been off the air? I used to live in Houston and listened to him every morning. I hope that is all he did. Keep us informed.

Is it a character flaw if someone - at 3:00AM - hollers, "Turn down that damned boom box!" Or, "What the hell were you thinking, driving your car across my lawn?"
Or, "Take your stupid damned drums to the school orchestra room!"
I can think of hundreds of those examples where kids drive normal adults right up a wall and I certainly don't call minor curse words reason for arrest. Kids learn much worse on their school bus every day and they learn them by the 3rd grade .... unfortunately.
This sounds to me like a lib taking offense to Jon's language directed at their "darling."

If anyone is seriously afraid of a 4-letter word being uttered in front of his/her child, I strongly suggest that they immediately dispose of all their TV sets.

It seems that there are some around here who have no problem uttering vulgar profane words in front of small children. I believe I have to side with you on this one also. Since my children are all grown and gone I can no longer do what you intimated but I'll say I have dropped some so called "friends" over the years for such ignorant actions around my family.

I would consider each and every one of your examples to be evidence of a character flaw. I cannot imagine acting that way in the presence of small children. Furthermore, I would not associate with anyone who acts as you describe.
To: SolidSupplySide
I'm certainly not talking about small children here.... Small children should definitely be protected from vulgar language. But no one has said he uttered a profanity in front of a SMALL child. This could very well be a situation where he lost his temper with some rude teenager.
I don't know about anyone else, but I have personally been cursed out by teenagers - so badly that my ears rang and it set my teeth on edge. I think too many youngsters today are terribly rude and coarse. Sometimes adults lose their tempers when confronted with this kind of rude behavior. I never have myself, but then again I'm not an ex-Marine like Jon. I'm just a grandmother who finds many teens today really offensive.

If in the end he's never arrested - where does he go to get his reputation back?

According to Channel Two a short while ago, Jon is in front of a grand jury answering questions. A teenager that lives on the same street as Jon made the allegation.

Cussing is not a "character flaw". It's a bad habit.
