Republicans triumphed in all three. In some cases--low taxes, spending restraint, opposition to trial lawyers-Do you know the the pubbies in Congress & the White House won't propose this reform legislation until after the elections because they don't see it as a plus. Now any doubts that they are the stupid party.

And in 1972, Washington Post had headline, "McGovern Sweeps DC" with smaller italics on top, "Nixon Carries Nation."
Frankly, there was so little coverage on any of the networks and cable news stations last night that I knew the GOP had prevailed in both gubernatorial races. Had a RAT one, they'd have broken into regular programming.

Paul Pattons sexual escapades along with Steve Henrys legal problems assured a Republican win in Ky.This factoid neatly summarizes the major problem the Rats have with the South. In blue territory, extramarital affairs, Oval Office Lewinskys and illegal activities with sleazy people are resume enhancers. The more of these things you can boast to, the further you go and the more you are admired and kowtowed to.
In red territory (which the South solidly is) OTOH, these things are seem as indicators of low character and immorality, and people who practice them are punished for it.
The Rats just can't figure this out, and it drives them crazy. So naturally they respond as "enlightened" people do when faced with the incomprehensible - they sneer at it, mock it and demean the people who believe in it as ignorant, uncultured rubes.

If the Democrats had simply held on to those governorships it would be wall-to-wall news as to the weakness of the GOP. A Republican wins in Kentucky after 32 years, and an incumbent Democrat is dispatched...and it's no big deal. The establishment media, there's nothing mainstream about them, is an arm of the DNC.

If the GOP had good candidates in those states, you'd be right. What has changed in Illinois?

If ABC could have figured out someway to get through the news without mentioning the two Repub wins at all I'm sure they would have done it.
The CA/KY/MS wins have got to be killing the libs. He-he.

Louisiana is already in GOP hands. It's in RINO hands.
Hopefully on Nov 15th, we'll get a true Republican Governor.

Put the brakes on. I just heard the Schwarzenegger has appointed a TED KENNEDY stooge to fill the most important post in the CA governor's administration. Say it ain't so!!!
