As The Liberal Left (CBS this time) Tries To Smear Ronald Reagan, Ann Coulter's Book Shines
AnnCoulter.com ^

As the Liberal Left prepares to slander President Ronald Reagan's historical record, the timing of Ann Coulter's book Treason could not have been more perfect.

It was only a matter of time before the Left launched an all-out assault on the historical record of President Reagan's eight year assault on the Left's social darling - the former communist Soviet Union.

As successful as he was in bringing world peace and causing the world to barely escaping world annihilation through nuclear war, the Liberal Left to this day continues to scoff and scorn this historical fact by never ceasing in it's attempts to distort the truth and lie about this great man they have loved to hate.

Here are some of the best quotes from Treason the Liberal Left never wants you to know about Ronald Reagan:

The Best Quotes From Ann Coulter's 'Treason'

by Ann Coulter

"Liberals are very big on taking 'the long view' when evaluating their foreign policies. They create horrendous foreign policy disasters, but then eventually, a Republican is elected President and cleans up the mess. They said containment would work and, lo and behold, forty years later -- right at the end of the Reagan administration -- the Soviet Union was stopped dead in its tracks. That's taking 'the long view.' Praise God President Bush is not 'another Harry Truman.'" -- Ann Coulter, P. 155

"Reagan took an approach to the Cold War dramatically different from any other US President. To wit, he thought we should win. This was a fresh concept. At the time, it was widely ridiculed as a dangerous alteration of US policy. Only after it worked was Reagan's dangerous foreign policy recast as merely a continuation of the policies of his predecessors." -- Ann Coulter, P. 158

"When contemplating a shield that would protect America for incoming missiles, Democrats suddenly became hardheaded fiscal conservatives. For the first time in recorded history, liberals were concerned about the cost and usefulness of a government program. These people believe federally funded art therapy for the homeless will pay for itself. That you can take to the bank. But a shield to repel incoming nuclear missiles from American soil they said, was too expensive and wouldn't work." -- Ann Coulter, P. 162

"Judging by their positions at the time, rather than their post hoc allegations, Democrats adored the Soviet Union. Congressional Democrats repeatedly opposed funding anti-Communist rebels, they opposed Reagan's military build-up, they opposed building a shield to protect America from incoming missiles, they opposed putting missiles in Europe. As a rule, Democrats opposed anything opposed by their cherished Soviet Union." -- Ann Coulter, P. 171

"Even if corners were cut, (Iran-Contra) was a brilliant scheme. There is no possibility that anyone in any Democratic administration would have gone to such lengths to fund anti-Communist forces. When Democrats scheme from the White House, it's to cover up the President's affair with an intern. When Republicans scheme, it's to support embattled anti-Communist freedom fighters sold out by the Democrats." -- Ann Coulter, P. 179

"Liberals said Reagan was dangerous and his rhetoric scary. They ridiculed him as an idiot for believing the Soviet Union could be toppled. They opposed him on every front -- strengthening the military, aiding and arming anti-Communist rebels around the world, invading Grenada, preparing to win a nuclear war, building a nuclear shield, and waging a spiritual crusade against Soviet totalitarianism. Reagan said the Soviet Union was an evil empire and we would prevail. He called the ball, the shot, and the pocket, and he won the game. But now we're supposed to believe he was lucky. Liberals lie about Reagan's victory because when Reagan won the Cold War, he proved them wrong on everything they had done and said throughout the Cold War." -- Ann Coulter, P. 190

Is there any wonder why CPUSA has a MoveOn.org connection? I think no one should be surprised that the RAT party is Communist and anti-American as the terrorists.

Any ideas why Ann never mentioned "The Boland Amendment" in her book?
You remember "The Boland Amendment" don't you? Sponsored in the Senate
by "The Swimmer", it said:

Nothing in DOD FY 1985 Authorization Act shall be deemed to authorize support for the contras in Nicaragua.

I always thought that was "Treasonous"

Do you think the dems will find another "Jimmy Carter" to try and oust Bush and get their candidate elected? They are getting more desperate as the time gets closer to the election. I wouldn't put anything past them. Hey...just a thought...but could they enlist the real Jimmy Carter this time?

Ted Kennedy is a testament to the entrenchment and tanacity of socialists and communists everywhere (especially in Boston, MA).

So, do you have any ideas why Ann didn't include
"The Boland Amendment" in her book?

He promised that the USSR would be rewarded.

It has been sometime since I finished Ann's book. I remember the above mentioned part. The entire RAT party is awash in Communistic thinking.

The Boland Amendment to the War Powers Act of 1973 Passed December 8, 1982 During the early years of the Reagan administration, a civil war raged in Nicaragua, pitting the elected pro-Marxist Sandinista leaders of the Nicaraguan government against CIA-financed Contra rebels. When the CIA carried out a series of acts of sabotage without congressional intelligence committees giving consent, or even being made aware beforehand, the Republican-controlled Senate became enraged, leading to the passage of the Boland Amendment and subsequent cutting off of funding for the Contras.

The Boland Amendment prohibited the federal government from providing military support "for the purpose of overthrowing the Government of Nicaragua." Aimed to prevent CIA funding of rebels opposed to the then Marxist elected government of Nicaragua, the Boland Amendment sought to block Reagan administration support for the Contra rebels. The amendment, however, was narrowly interpreted by the Reagan administration only to apply to U. S. intelligence agencies, allowing the National Security Agency, not so labeled, to channel funds to the Contra rebels.

In spite of the Boland Amendment, Vice Admiral John M. Poindexter and his deputy, Colonel Oliver North, possibly without informing the president, secretly diverted to the Nicaraguan contras millions of dollars in funds received from another secret deal which had had explicit presidential approval -- the secret sales of anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles to Iran in spite of Reagan's public pledge not to deal with "terrorist" nations. In November, 1986, a pro-Syrian newspaper in Lebanon revealed the secret deal to the world. This came as Democrats won back control of Congress in the 1986 elections. In public hearings, angry Democrats sought to prosecute Col. Oliver North for his role. Hearings blamed Reagan's passive style of leadership for allowing the conduct of foreign policy without involvement of any elected official. However, a later Congress repealed the Boland Amendment and resumed funding. Elections in Nicaragua subsequently ousted the Marxists from power.

House Amendment 461 to HR 2968 is summarized by the Thomas Bill Summary & Status (under Amendments) as:   "An amendment to prohibit covert assistance for military operations in Nicaragua and to authorize overt interdiction assistance. The overt interdiction assistance consists of assistance furnished by the President on terms he may dictate to any friendly country in Central America to enable that country to prevent the use of its territory for the transfer of military equipment from or through Cuba or Nicaragua or any other country. The assistance must be overt. For this overt aid $30,000,000 is provided for FY'83 and $50,000,000 is provided for FY'84."

I think Ann touched on the details surrounding the Boland Amendment but don't know why she didn't address it directly unless it detracted from the central theme of Treason.

I'm sure Oliver North could shed far more light on this than Ann Coulter.

:~)

They might, but who are they going to go to? Carter had the Soviets still around to tout Mondale as their candidate to. Fidel isn't going to pull much weight. Kim Il Jong has the party apparatus in his hands, but evidently not much popular support. I guess the Chinese could return Clinton a favor for that nuclear technology, but that stuff was bought and paid for in campaign contributions. They may think they're square with the Rats. I guess that leaves Mugabe and that Rat in Venezuela, I forget his name.

The National Security Agnecy is AN INTELLIGENCE AGENCY !!!
It was NSC ~ National Security Council which is a 'policy making' agency not a 'operations or intelligence gathering' organization. There is nothing in the stautes which set up the NSC that expressly forbids it from undertaking 'operations'. (Of course 'post-Iran-Contra World' that may have changed!)
Actually there is some precedent for the NSC doing such things; Colonel House doing 'things' for Wilson, in pre-OSS days Donovon did 'things' for Roosevelt. (Also when I mean 'things' that were NOT alone. These 'wise men' were impowered with 'Presidential Authority' in an obvious way and they used such authority to draw on 'executive' resources to get things done!) There are other examples but I can' recall the details. BUT all of that was back in the days when there were few 'policy-advising or covert action' mechanisms for the President to use, such things then were very 'ad-hoc'.

In the case of the Iran-Contra "thing," many good men were dying in Nicarauga in an effort to stop the forceful takeover of communism in that country.

The Rats blocked any and all efforts by Reagan to prevent this and so Reagan left them completely out of the loop.

Rats still try to steer clear of this one.

How could liberals not be treasonist? They believe in political globalism and the UN because of their love for socialism which creates an elite class that they feel they belong to. In order to believe in those two things, they must believe in knocking down America to the level of of most more-socialist foreign countries in military power and economic power. That's why they've always opposed anything that strengthens us militarily or economically.
