Well looking at samples under a microscope, two hair samples, from two different areas of a body; can both samples be compared and 'matched' by structure, color and dna, and determined that both samples belong to the same person, in this case Laci?

A hair without a follicle can only get Mitochondrial DNA.The comparison under a microscope couldn't be as powerful. It wouldn't be any different as far as MDNA no matter what kind of hair was involved.I guess they could compare her hair from a brush microscopically with the hair in the pliers.
